Usually when the price is too good to be true, it is too good to be true.

Don't buy from them. Have you seen their kits? You can get their special wildlife kit that includes a silver XSi, 16-35, and 70-300 DO for only $6300 !!

I don't understand how "ThunderCameras" are still in business after numerous complaints and legal actions against them...

The lens may be low in price, but check out their prices on filters!

Anybody can stay in business despite complaints and legal actions. The big problem is most people don't pursue with enough force, nor in the proper manner. Plus, going to sue someone out of town? Better plan on spending a lot more on legal fees!

Has anyone had any experience buying from central digital? Good or bad? Just like to hear what you think. Thanks!

Never heard of them. This is what I always suggest to people who are bargain hunting for gear on the web. Go to several reputable sites such as Amazon, B&H, Adorama, Canoga Camera. Check their prices and you'll most likely see that they aren't too far apart on pricing. Now, if your bargain site undercuts these sites by an appreciable amount it is most likely some type of scam.

Check out this link for reviews of Central Digital. Doesn't look good to me when you see these types of complaints.

It's simple, they just keep changing the name. There was a whole write up about a year ago about several companies people had complained about over the years. After some digging around by some techs, they found that most of the companies were all traced back to the same IP address. They just kept changing the name, creating a new site, and it would be months before they racked up a lot of bad reports. Next thing you know, new name, new site, and whole new set of suckers buy from them.

If the price is too good to be true, then avoid it. There is no way these no name small time guys can buy at better prices than Adorama or B&H. These are two of the big boys, so what ever price they have posted is going to be about the best legit price you can get. Sure, every once in a while you will see a 'Special' because it's an older model or something. But if a site has most of their prices way below Adorama or B&H, you know they can't be legit.

Thanks to richardfox! I remember a member posting something about them awhile back and don't remember anyone posting back. I am ALWAYS skeptical about too good to be true. I agree with TGrundvig with his reply, those companies are above board from my expeience. I have also had all good dealings with Abe's Of Maine too. Thanks again for the response to my Question!!!

Avoid the site. Better to pay a premium at a trustworthy reseller as Adorama or B&H.

Amen, for sure. Those are my two most-trusted sources. Have bought a ton of stuff from B&H, and have yet to have a problem or be disappointed. Much better than having to deal with problems...

It's out of New York. The only place I trust in NY is B & H. Amazon, Adorama, and Calumet (are they in NY?) are places you can trust.
