Tonight has been a kick in my nuts.....
Really hard to say the least....

I have been editing in LR PS DPP all of it and been having a rough time.
I thought it was me (well partly)
I thought it was my 7D (well partly)

Why do i say well partly didn't know the camera settings throughly enough,
I thought it was my editing skills pushing things way toooo much...
My monitor made me think i was doing alright till i went on the gf's laptop tonight and i my jaw hit the floor when i went through my online pictures...

I don't have a clue where to start with calibrating or trying to get it to be what it has to be so i can edit a damn picture?

Someone help me i don't know what is best point me in the right direction please

What are you talking about???

Are you concerned that your color calibration on the monitor you're editing with is wrong? Get a calibrator and set it right. Even if you buy a new monitor, you will have to calibrate it.

I can't argue with you...

BTW... that calibration kit is meant for HP Dreamcolor professional monitors. Look online for an iOne Display 2. You'll get better prices online than your local electronics store.

And don't compare your display to an uncalibrated laptop display. Even calibrated, a cheap laptop display will not be as accurate as a good monitor.

How are you calibrating if you don't have something like the iOne Display 2 or a Spyder3Pro? Don't go by your girlfriend's laptop because it's also probably off ... just in a different way. Also remember that the factory default for most monitors is way too bright.
