Taken in Belfast city centre this morning, all c&c welcome.

BTW there is a stray light trail just left of centre, i dont know what this is, dirt on lens? Taken on a 450D/Sigma 17-70 os, 30 seconds at f22, ISO 200

Cheers :D

I have that same lens and was thinking of selling it but than I will miss the macro capabilities of the lens, but to answer your question... Sometimes when you have the shutter open for too long you get dirt spots and all kinds of nasty things in the picture, but that can be clarified in pshop.

I like the picture, I just think the alignment is a bit off as the street lamps dont match even and I find the road marking before the trails a little bit distracting, I also notice a some purple line on the top of the picture, not too sure what that is.

I like the lens, big step up from the kit, and i cant afford L glass lol.

I cant see any purple, but my laptop monitor sucks, that could be the problem. Should i try the scene again with a tripod that has a spirit level instead of the glorified back scracher i wsa using this morning, or could fixes be done in PS?

If I was you I will try a different scene where you can get a little red in the picture as your picture just seems to be just one tone, get a road that goes opposite directions to get the red light back of the cars in. Also try to just have it set at 5-10 sec instead of 30sec and always keep the iso at 100 if you do a shot like this.

But to answer your question, I think any tripod will do the trick as long as the camera is still for the time you set it at.
