Colors are good and the composition works - except for the oof blade of grass in the foreground. It just draws my eye to it rather than to the butterfly.

I think it's stunning. The florescent greens are gorgeous against the flatter orange & black of the wings. You might consider to crop a 1/8" off the top to remove the brown tips. In addition to removing a ~blemish~ that little crop may loosen the perspective of the photograph and allow the butterfly to float in space, so to speak, by removing a solid frame of reference.
Do you mind sharing time of day and position of light. Thanks,

Dave, unfortunately the zoo wouldn't permit to me to "garden" to get the shot the way I like :D.

GlimmerMan, the photo was shot in a butterfly house with the light coming in most from a skylight, and high windows. The weather that day was overcast as well so the already softened light was made very soft.

Thanks for the cropping advice, I cropped a tiny bit off the top and right in this edit as well as upping the midtown contrast, and doing a bit of editing on the eyes(cooled them, brightened the mid-tones). What do you think?

Understand - the zoos do not appreciate the photographer's needs. It is a lovely image anyway.

I like the image as you shot it. The blades streaming across the page look excellent and the butterfly is very colorful. Nice composition and use the limited light provided.

Beautiful shot, makes me want to go out and take a few pics of the same subject.
