USB print server for Pro9000 mk2

Can anyone recommend a USB print server (device, not a computer) to share the Canon Pro9000 mark 2 printer?

I have it currently connected to a ReadyNAS Duo. I can print to it, but I cannot see the status of the printer (amount of ink left, clean heads, etc.). I am looking for something that would allow me to see the level of ink left.

The Silex C-6700wg should work with your printer. I'm using one with my Pro9500 Mark 2 printer, and I can see ink status and all that as if it's a locally-connected printer. Not a cheap solution, but it works.

WOW for $100 is expensive.

What is the longest USB cable? My closest computer is about 20-feet away along the same wall, so I can theoretically run a long USB wire; and then share the printer off that computer.

You can just use a USB hub -- the thing to be aware of is that you want a hub that will operate at the full USB 2.0 speed. With unpowered hubs, you can be slowed down if you put a USB 1 device on the hub along with your USB 2 device, so I always advise picking up a powered hub -- I have tons of old USB 1 devices lying around!

I have bought the Silex unit but i cannot get my 9500 mark 2 working, is there anyone using mac who can help me out?
