I used to use some speedotron lights about 5 years ago, black line series - amazing lights, but gosh, the pack was HEAVY. Nowadays, the profotos are lighter, and I carry the norman 200Bs with me for portability.

Shot a gig for a friend's birthday party with my kit. The space was extremely limited and he wanted people to be able to get photos with the body painted girls on this Crown Royal chair he had. I used the 1205 pack with two heads placed to the side and pulled forward a bit, so that it wasn't exactly cross lighting with a 7" reflector on one and an 11" reflector on the other. I got some shadows when there were a lot of people getting photos at the same time, but for space constraints, it worked perfectly.

Purchased an Elinhcrom 39" DO and a Kacey Enterprise adapter. Some good stuff.

Next two purchases are going to be strip boxes. I'm not sure if I should buy cheap and disposable or expensive and sturdy. They're going to be used for outdoor work mainly and there's going to be a lot of setup and tear down.

I may even look for another 1200w/s pack in the future.

I'll try and get a photo of my Pelican case with all the Speedo gear in it.

Try the Fred Miranda forums. I don't think there's an actual Speedotron forum.

There's a facebook page w/ discussion area, but they don't reply to questions on it, so I'm not sure what the point of it is except maybe their marketing guy said it was a good idea :-P

Here's my Pelican 1654.

The 1205CX and 405 Black Line packs are on the left with a cable. 4 Additional cables fit just to the right, and then the 5 heads with a small space left for sync cables fit on the right side. I still need to get a cover for my last 202VF head.

So you are the one that keeps buying all the Speedo gear on ebay, J/K Nice kit for sure, where do you put your reflectors, modifiers, and stands.

I need a bigger pack, I have 2 805's, I want a 1200 ws pack, I also want a 405for small space gigs.I love my 202 and 206 heads but I wish the bigger packs had more control over power settings.I guess you cant have it all in any system. I wish they had some sort of slider like AB or a power dial from 1/1 thru 1/128th.

I will lay out my kit and take some pics. Also if anyone has a bad 202 or206flash tube please pm me.I need one.

Right now, that stuff just goes in the backseat of the car.

That's one thing I hated about my Alien Bees is the slider. It's so inaccurate.

What I am saying is I would like to have better control over output. Not just fixed ratios does that make sense. Sliders was just an example. I was accurate outputs, i just dont want to have to dump 2 heads (snooted) in another room to dial down my main light. I need a 405 but they are all gone. I should of not been such a cheapskate and paid Helix the 490 bucks

You mean adjustments per head. I've found a solution to that:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …00_Watt_Second_Power.html (external link)

Maybe when I'm rich. I'm actually thinking about solutions for dumping lights. I think if I person could use a sofbox or something similar, except with a black piece of cloth instead of the white diffusion panel on the front, you could have something that wouldn't be affected by heat and would allow for you to not have to worry about where you would run a dump head to.

I think I lucked out in finding the guy on Fred Miranda selling the 5 heads, the 405 pack, and the reflectors. I haven't seen any on e-bay or anywhere else. Some one is selling 800w/s Norman packs on e-bay that have been converted for use with speedo heads. That may be an option. I do a scan about every one or two weeks to see what new toys pop up.

You are a funny man, Yes dumping heads in other rooms that dont affect the image is the only way I have found to step down the power in small places. If I had the 405 it would be easier. Now I have been using sppedlights and my 8-5 in small setups. I live speedo. I hope to buy t more packs, A 405 and a 1200WS one. I will be done..
