Not anytime soon, I'm afraid... :D

Rut ro...

We had a bit of an issue with luggage on the flights home that is probably going to result in a letter to American Airlines.

We were among the last group to board the plane for our flight from Chicago to San Diego. By the time we reached the gate, they were making everyone with a large bag check it because the overhead bins were full. I told them I wasn't putting my camera bag in the hold, PERIOD. We managed to find room for the camera bags in First Class and put the computer bags under the seat.

What was irritating was that people who boarded earlier were allowed to put their bags in the overhead bins, although a lot of them were so large the bins wouldn't close. I watched one woman struggle to get her bag down when we landed because it was so large and the bin right over my head was difficult for the flight attendant to close because the door was hitting the wheels.

What they need to do is either eliminate the exorbitant fees for checked baggage (which are causing passengers to bring larger and larger carry-on bags) and/or enforce the regulations on carry-on size for ALL passengers, not just the late boarders.

That is every flight, everyday. There is never enough room for the carry on they allow, it is stupid and holds up the flight while people try to find space and while they check stuff.

No, not forms. Just information from the paper forms.

Ah, got it! That makes more sense.

You should try reading people's handwriting from a century or two ago. Some of the census records I read from the 1850s on are darn near indecipherable! And, forget trying to read personal letters from back then. The writing styles of that time were very different from today. A doctor's prescription slip today would look like a penmanship award winner compared to the stuff I try to puzzle over on a daily basis...

I have a program that automagically swaps the wallpaper on my computer every few minutes, putting a different one on each of the two monitors. I also have a slideshow screen saver that kicks in after five minutes. Both are pointed to the root directory of my collection of my own photos that I've taken over the past mublety few years. So, my computer is constantly showing me a random photo that I've taken, myself.

It's amazing how many of these I just don't recognize! Like the one on the right monitor now. I know I took the shot. Ashley's in it and it has my watermark in the corner. But I have no clue at all where we were at the time.
