It's so funny. I was listening to Michael Buble...but he was doing an Eric Clapton song "Wonderful tonight". And no one does it like Eric Clapton so I clicked on his version...which led me to an Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, BBKing song, which led me to an Eric Clapton/Tina Turner song, which led me to this (external link)...CHRIS...lol, I TOTALLY thought of you when I watched it (probably nsfw...just because of how the dancers are dressed). It was in 2009. She's retired now, did you know? No more performances. She looks great though.

aww she's all grown up now then huh?

 Was that Chris dancing in the crowd?

I guess she is growed, I thought that 5 pounds ago.

normally I have too much attention deficit to listen to a whole album....but I have to say that Clapton's "Unplugged" album is AWESOME. And I mean that in Neil's sense, not Bill & Ted's....

I didn't know that. I wonder if it's the same with ours. Though they pretty much stopped growing at about 14mo. K filled out after that but no taller (thank God...holy giant springer Batman). Hale filled out first. Then grew. She's looking pretty good these days. Dropped some fat this summer.

You should try reading people's handwriting from a century or two ago. Some of the census records I read from the 1850s on are darn near indecipherable! And, forget trying to read personal letters from back then. The writing styles of that time were very different from today. A doctor's prescription slip today would look like a penmanship award winner compared to the stuff I try to puzzle over on a daily basis...

Many years ago a secretary sent something I had written back to me with the words "For heavens sake Neil use print!"

Now I do and it is completely legible and as a result of practice just as fast as script :-)

Thanks Guys. It feels good to be home. Buddy did more damage to the house - we have to replace the blinds in the one window he was escaping from and someone cleared off John's bookshelves in the office.

It sure could have been worse, welcome home to you two. :D

Indeed, tis just the veritable pre-fest, nay, WARM up to the fest!

My respect for you has just gone up a notch. ;)

We had a bit of an issue with luggage on the flights home that is probably going to result in a letter to American Airlines.

That letter would just fall on deaf ears, this is a very common occurrence on flights.

I know reading through some 100 year old stuff ancestors had written it was tough to read, almost all of it was cursive. My great great grandmother had beautiful writing, but it was really tough to read what it said.

Like Neil, I went to printing and completely dumped the cursive stuff once I started into post secondary studies. My handwriting was pretty bad, but with all the drafting I took, my printed word is very legible, though usually not that neat.

It's amazing how many of these I just don't recognize! Like the one on the right monitor now. I know I took the shot. Ashley's in it and it has my watermark in the corner. But I have no clue at all where we were at the time.

Don't you have a really big numbered birthday coming up soon, something was up in the 60's isn't it? ;)

short5 wrote in post #11228519 (external link)
I just weighed Dots, she is 60 pounds.

She is not so small at all then. Jasper hit about 48 at 10 months, and is still the same at 2 1/2 years.

I was so hesitant to go... I was hesitant to crash at Di's house only because she had John & Heather there too.... However, I am glad that I decided to go.... Like Di said with a couple of exceptions this was a seriously amazing weekend...

My muscle aches from all the laughing and all the walking/driving are finally beginning to subside... It was a whirlwind trip but I wouldn't have traded this trip!!!!!!!

Where's the "like" button?

thomascanty wrote in post #11223857 (external link)
Yo, Kit. It's too bad you don't watch TV. There's a commercial that's been running recently that you'd just love! It's for a new show called The Hasslehoffs.

That's so completely wrong.

Permagrin wrote in post #11224403 (external link)
Morning all :) Still enjoying those photos from the visit. Glad everyone had a good time.

you put the nikon sticker on it, in a moment of solidarity then huh?
I wish I could find my quote after the get together last year. It's nearly identical to this one.

Would be fun to see it.

Funny stuff! The show seems just wrong, but that's pretty hilarious! Gotta love when they spoof something.

Not a problem....not even a problem if the kids are along. I've spent time with all of them and never had an issue. (Except the kids wanting to keep my dogs!)

ROFLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night Eli is complaining if itchies on his leg, high on the inside of his thigh. Daddy the genius offers up the term 'jock itch' which I quickly shoot down. Just now Eli comes out of the bedroom "mom, my scab came off of my jock itch" and holds his ARM up showing a scratched bite. LOLOLOLOL!!!!

omgoodness, funny!!!!!!

12 hours. TWELVE hours working on a spreadsheet. (database, whatever)
My. eyes. doth. protest.
Ah, but the feeling of being DONE!
(and thanks for the help from the pros )

Yes, I took a couple breaks. I showered. I ate. But I started at 8 this morning, and it's now 10:30.

My stars...time to hire one of the kids to put the info in for you. Yikes!!

Permagrin wrote in post #11228431 (external link)
I'm guessing that it was you that put the nikon sticker on his lens?

I figure that a dude with a broken foot, an exploded microwave smelling house who can't run outside skyclad in the snow is probably put in a bad mood easily. Got any more stickers?

 Just this once, I'll vouch. The sticker was there before Jenn ever saw Z, this trip anyway. lol!

And the thing is, honestly, as much as he was grumbling about having to fly even the night before, nothing would have made him happy that day. Tis simply how it is/was. :(
