Alabama is #2. There are some schools of thought that the ducks don't have as hard a schedule as Alabama and don't deserve to be #1 but then there are those of us who think that they are beating some of the best teams out there so...they deserve it & would win in a championship game. Actually Auburn (the other football team in Alabama) is #2. Alabama is #6. The Site

I think we'll get along well. Makes for a nice break for you. Glad you like the new hair stylist and make up artist. puddlepirate44 wrote in post #11231003 No kidding. About an hour ago, Larry, our pet Wooly Mammoth that we thawed out from one of the Mt. Hood glaciers last Spring (boy, is THAT a story), went on a rampage and flattened our neighbor's house. No, really, FLATTENED the house. It's partly my fault as I haven't been able take him out for a walk lately. I can't take him to the dog parks anymore, not after the Chihuahua incident in August. Anyway, the neighbor lady is upset, obviously, because she doesn't have a Wooly Mammoth rider on her home insurance (like that's MY fault?). So now Larry, who just acts like a big puppy, is having a time out in our backyard. Poor little guy's all upset, doesn't understand. He's in some pain, too, because he had a microwave stuck in his footpad. I took it out, but it's a little swollen. Neighbor Lady didn't seem to care about that AT ALL. ![]() Love the way you think Dan Permagrin wrote in post #11231564 It's no wonder our kids are growing up so blasted ignorant. I see posts on FB from kids...they can't spell, they don't use punctuation. They use wrong words...and text speak for real life... I can't tell you how happy I am when I hear here that parents are still reading to their kids, or have instilled a love of reading in them. You wouldn't believe how many kids I talk to who say "books? why?" or something of the like... I wonder why language is so fluid (considering how they used to speak/write)... sigh. /end rant. We have seen job applications and resumes in text speak Permagrin wrote in post #11232025 some Oregon Coast shots from Tues. Alabama is #6. As for the strength of schedule, Boise is the team that does not compare. Oregon's is not that far off. They did jump Auburn which means the game with Oregon and USC was stronger than the one with Auburn and Ole Miss. Oregon has one heck of a team and I hope the running back wins the Heisman, but probably it will be Cam Newton. The only two game that matter right now are Oregon and Oregon State and Alabama and Auburn. Ducks and Tide win they play for the championship, Ducks and Auburn wins they do. OS wins who the heck knows. oh you are right, I do get them confused. .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS

Mississippi state passed and reported the situation. Auburn says they didn't pay anything for him. Cam's dad said they didn't take anything etc....but the SEC is investigating. .. Have you heard about the current "Cam Newton" scandal? If it plays out this year (and the committee doesn't drag their heels about it) it looks bad for Auburn & Cam. I don't think it is anything but Urban Meyer starting rumors. The investigation has been going on since Jully. The NCAA will not rule until the end of the season if it is against Cam/Auburn; that would be to big of a mess. YAY!!! neil_r wrote in post #11230402 We have something very similar, its called a National Insurance Number. We have a Social Insurance Number (SIN). puddlepirate44 wrote in post #11230432 My dad had the most perfect signature. Seriously. His cursive writing was just like the primers we used in second grade. All in a line, perfectly curled... he even used the "Q" that looked like the number 2. He would always despair over my writing. My signature, even when I did it slow, was, and is, illegible. My dad had the worst writing. I saw some of his writing from his childhood and teens, but losing his right arm (the one he wrote with) at 19 screwed that up. He just never caught on good with his left hand, though he still used it very well for other things.
