cool. Cider is so sweet, it's probably not a regular drink for me, but I have enjoyed a holiday cup.

We are staying home. By choice. I haven't been feeling well and am trying to be rested up for our family Christmas thing. Hence the lasagna for our dinner instead of a toikey.

One year when Wade and I couldn't make it home for Thanksgiving, we made tacos.

The dogs and I are celebrating a quiet day by ourselves. Have stuff to make rotini with white clam sauce. Guess clams are the new turkey!

We have skipped a lot of family Thanksgivings and gone on trips leading to non traditional meals. They don't do Thanksgiving in Jamaica Lol.

Evening folks, long, weird day here. Friend's sister is in a coma, or close to it after being rear-ended into oncoming DC area traffic this morning. They have 4 kids. :( That being said, ended up helping my friend's oldest daughter run their business for a couple of hours. For a 14 y/o, she sure did well! I was proud of her, I'd suspect her parents would be as well.

Came home to Blondie having another asthma treatment. And my sister isn't feeling well (nothing serious). Its just been a whacked day.

Cat, I'm glad everyone got accepted to HWAC and all the humans returned safely. Hope Lorraine feels better soon.

Permie/Lonnie...agree with you guys. Too much. Yet there'll always be folks arguing the other side just for the sake of arguing.

ANYWAY, going to bed before the grumpies rub off on anyone. Hope everyone has a fantastic day tomorrow, no matter what your plans/lack of plans.

We are going to my parents for a few hours and sort of pot-luck thanksgiving then fleeing back here.

We are going to my sister in law's, I've already told my family that we plan on going on vacation next year!

We've never been big on Thanksgiving honestly, there are plenty of politics happening and I just don't care for it.

Interestingly enough, Christmas is just fine...go figure?

Sorry to hear about the sister... Please pass along my hopes that she recovers soon.

I don't envy anyone having to drive in DC. I've been driving in California for almost 50 years, yet driving in DC scared the bloody crap out of me...

LOL! where's your wife off to then?

She's headed to NY with her sister. Friday is my step-son's 30th birthday...his band is doing a big benefit concert....we had originally both planned to go....but no dog sitters available.

eRRR.... Now that John knows what he's getting, are you even going to bother wrapping it?

He has known as soon as I saw the ads last week. Checked out the location today, so I can head straight for the HD's and found out that right now they have 3 on the shelf.

My boss is still the best, he is letting me go for a shower in the middle of my work day. In fact, he is insisting on it. ;) :p

You must have a great boss - are their names Lisa and Jasper?

I love my husband. You know, the other night when I was watching the snow out the window, he woke up (it was the middle of the night and he was due to get up at 3:30 a.m.) and said "what are you doing?" me "watching the snow fall. It's so pretty." him: (gets up) yes, it is pretty. Glad you are enjoying it...then back to sleep in less than 1 min. It's nice to share things at all hours. :) Then today he was texting for the last minute list for Thanksgiving stuff...I told him and said "I wish we'd picked a couple of things up at costco but no way am I going today." He texted back with "I'll go face costco-hades on my way home" That was so sweet. Especially since I've got to go over to the l'hôpital later for some tests and just don't feel like braving the hoards. him=sweet guy.

Awwwww, you got a great guy there Lisa.

s'ok. I was alone and none of my friends answered their texts  so I stayed alone.

I know Heather already posted the good news here, but I wanted to as well...

We had our first 100% run at HWAC! It was awesome. They took Robbie and Marcus, even though they had said that they wouldn't take anyone over 6 months old. They loved Robbie... who wouldn't?

16 dogs, and they took all of them. Totally awesome feeling.

However, we'd always said that we'd stay an extra day in CA and party if that ever happened, and what are the odds that it would happen on this run?? We had to get back for several reasons: Lorraine wasn't feeling well, we had to get ready for the Holidays, and there was a freak blizzard invading Utah that we had to beat.
So we actually left earlier than we would have if we'd have had dogs, LOL.

Oh well. Next time. :)

You have to have another 100% adoption, so we can show you the Zoo and maybe Seaworld.

Because of my usual vacation requests at this time of the year (three weeks in November and two in December), my new boss (yeah... another one...) decided to put me on days for the three and a half weeks I work between vacations so as to not interrupt the 3rd shift schedule too much. That means I had to work today. Days! 7:30am to 4:00pm. That meant I got to drive the entire 55 mile one-way route home in rush hour traffic while everyone else on the freaking planet was trying to head the same direction...

After that pleasant little drive I can't even imagine why anyone else involved in that massive tie-up could possibly be in a mood to give thanks for anything once they make it to their destination. When I work nights that drive normally takes 50 minutes. During a "normal" day shift rush-hour commute it's about an hour and ten minutes. Today it was a little closer to three hours.

I'm not even close to being caught up on all the forums and other sites I try to haunt on a daily basis, but I'm already trying to wind down and get ready for bed because I have to go back to work again tomorrow! At least I'll get holiday pay and there shouldn't be nearly as much traffic...

That stinks Lonnie. Hope the commute gets better, as more people start getting time off for the holidays.

Good night Crissa.

Hi Heather.

I guess it is after midnight here so I will wish everyone, even those who do not do thanksgiving, a very happy Thanksgiving Day. I can honestly say I am most thankful for friendships. Having friends to lean on makes the crap in life bearable. I am lucky to be married to my best friend and to have some really amazing wonderful friends , many are here. Have a good one my friends and thank YOU for being there.
