I love my husband. You know, the other night when I was watching the snow out the window, he woke up (it was the middle of the night and he was due to get up at 3:30 a.m.) and said "what are you doing?" me "watching the snow fall. It's so pretty." him: (gets up) yes, it is pretty. Glad you are enjoying it...then back to sleep in less than 1 min. It's nice to share things at all hours. :) Then today he was texting for the last minute list for Thanksgiving stuff...I told him and said "I wish we'd picked a couple of things up at costco but no way am I going today." He texted back with "I'll go face costco-hades on my way home" That was so sweet. Especially since I've got to go over to the l'hôpital later for some tests and just don't feel like braving the hoards. him=sweet guy.

Awww.

I has been nice to know that there are other nice men out there...I literally grew up with a dad who would not pick up any groceries at the store even if he was at the store for something else. Dan has always been the "ohemgee! you are the best of your species" to me. I'll never forget our first real argument. I totally recoiled expecting him to hit me. I'll never forget the stunned look on his face. I can honestly say, after all 26 years, I'm thankful for my husband. Thanksgiving time just seemed the right time to express that.

I know that feeling! but really, their just masking their jealousy as the push their nasty little veggies to the checkout!

Oh good point. Cheesecake envy is never pretty.

Nice textures and turkey birds today.

I have had a hawk hanging around for a few hours. We were talking bird feed last night, well with all the little birds in my yard I feed the hawks too

This is through the glass window and big time cropped. I think he is a Coopers hawk but I struggle between them and sharp shinned hawks.

Nice boid!

s'ok. I was alone and none of my friends answered their texts  so I stayed alone.

I did too! :p

If it had dreads, it would be easier to place. The Jamaican Manja Hawk is very distinctive.

What are people doing tomorrow?

We are going to my parents for a few hours and sort of pot-luck thanksgiving then fleeing back here.

I have a family portrait shoot tomorrow, so I picked up the 5D (my dads) with the 17-40L and 2 speedlites. I've been testing OCF for the last hour setting the flash in manual and shooting through a 42" diffuser. Hopefully this year I get it right as ETTL always fails me and seemed like I would get only 1/4th the power from 2 flashes.

After that, we go to my brothers house for dinner. My other brother, his wife and kids are headed to Minnesota as her 20 year old cousin died suddenly on Monday. My other sister can't make it because she is behind in her art work and needs some time to paint. She's become the celebrity in the family that everyone fawns over when she makes a special appearance. That's starting to get old with me. She does "act" the part of the artist, I guess that's more important than seeing your family 3 or 4 times a year if that, she only lives 5 miles away. I'm not bitter.

Tomorrow night it will be prep time to go to Target and score a flat screen at 4am. We tried again this evening as the one we looked at the other day was another $50 off. We waited at the register for 10 minutes and finally closed out the transaction on other items and then wait for the tv to be brought up front to pay for it, but not hold up other customers trying to check out. The register manager assured us multiple times that it was on it's way up front. After 15 minutes we walked out the door.

Good night Crissa.

Hi Heather.

I guess it is after midnight here so I will wish everyone, even those who do not do thanksgiving, a very happy Thanksgiving Day. I can honestly say I am most thankful for friendships. Having friends to lean on makes the crap in life bearable. I am lucky to be married to my best friend and to have some really amazing wonderful friends , many are here. Have a good one my friends and thank YOU for being there.

excellent sentiments (and heartily agreed with)

Nice. I wish I could keep some nice bottles in the house for occasional consumption and cooking. Unfortunately if it is here it does not last. Leyla does not believe in storing alcohol
