Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends. :D

What are people doing tomorrow?

Working, we did our thing a month ago.

We are all going to Nevada to my folks to spend the day with the whole fam. Then I'm staying and Wade is coming home with Marian tomorrow night so that the dogs aren't left alone. (I'm keeping Amikah with me).

We go Christmas Tree hunting on Friday as an annual tradition as well. I don't get a tree, but go for the fun of it. It's a whole day out in the mountains with lots of laughing, good food and fun. The dogs love the mountains too.

That sounds just wonderful, Cat. Enjoy. :D

You must have a great boss - are their names Lisa and Jasper?

The boss is ME. Really, just ask....well, just ask me. :p

I can handle a glass or two of nog a couple times a year....it is pretty rich.

That is the same for me, I much prefer to make it myself. A nice dark rum helps a bit with the richness. Tasty stuff, but too rich to drink too much.

it does appear to be capped doesn't it...but the tail was distinctly square.
You can't count the "ruffed" feathers...it's too windy here to use that as a determining factor.

Plus as feathers wear, patterns and shapes may change.

Right now there's a Red-tailed Hawk somewhere in the area. I hear him but haven't seen him.

Remember this guy from last Jan. by our feeder?

beer has different alcohol content by state??

It's a Utah thing. You wouldn't understand (because they don't either).

cfpackerfan wrote in post #11342013 (external link)
I know Heather already posted the good news here, but I wanted to as well...

We had our first 100% run at HWAC! It was awesome. They took Robbie and Marcus, even though they had said that they wouldn't take anyone over 6 months old. They loved Robbie... who wouldn't?

16 dogs, and they took all of them. Totally awesome feeling.

However, we'd always said that we'd stay an extra day in CA and party if that ever happened, and what are the odds that it would happen on this run?? We had to get back for several reasons: Lorraine wasn't feeling well, we had to get ready for the Holidays, and there was a freak blizzard invading Utah that we had to beat.
So we actually left earlier than we would have if we'd have had dogs, LOL.

Oh well. Next time. :)

YAY! But too bad on not being able to relax and enjoy the thrill.

Permagrin wrote in post #11342083 (external link)
never had hard cider. What does it taste like?

Fizzy soft cider. Next time you get a jug of unfiltered sweet cider, let it sit a bit until it gets a bit of a tingle from the natural yeasts.

short5 wrote in post #11342210 (external link)
Cool! Can you just turn until it reads unlost?

Lol, thanks, what do you think?

Nice series!

Hey, wow, well, karma :p :lol!

Gaaa!

Wooooooooot!

That is close lol.

Cider, just harder.

Yo:cool:

So that.

That stinks Lonnie. Hope the commute gets better, as more people start getting time off for the holidays.

It was just fine coming into work today. I had the whole freeway to myself!

Athena wrote in post #11343144 (external link)
Lonnie - I forgot to click on the quote thingie on your post. But want to say that I'm sorry your commute is so dreadful. Maybe you could listen to some audiobooks while you are in the car? That always helps me pass unpleasantly long travel times. ;)

Yep. I do that. I have a little Sansa Fuze mp3 player with 4Gb built-in memory and an 8Gb SD expansion card. I have all 12Gb stuffed full of audiobooks and podcasts to pass the time during the commute.

The bad commute was only last night, though, as everyone was trying to get out of town for Thanksgiving. It isn't always like that.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Nice. I wish I could keep some nice bottles in the house for occasional consumption and cooking. Unfortunately if it is here it does not last. Leyla does not believe in storing alcohol

Happy Thanksgiving! May your day be filled with happy, in whatever form that takes for you. For us, it is loud, crowded, getting in the way, taking sides during the football games and insulting each others choices, forgetting that one dish that completes the meal (we are undecided if it will be the cranberries or the yams *shudder* this year, lol), probably a food fight of some sort and a HUGE mess. In other words, perfection :D

On a more serious note, I truly am grateful for my family. It is brought home to me upon occasion that I have a very special one. It is easy to get caught up in the petty day to day stuff and be annoyed with loved ones, to the point that sometimes all communication comes to a halt. I have striven to overcome my own inner child where some of that is concerned. In fact, my Sister in law and I are becoming close, and I truly am enjoying her uniqueness. Of course it helps that she put down the bottle ;)
There are enough people in the world to fight with, ones family should not be in that number.

Be well :D

I'm the same way. I never answer the phone unless I'm expecting the call, and I only place calls if I've exhausted every other possible route.

But, I sure do text a lot! Hundreds every month...

Hundreds... that's it?? LOL I send thousands...

The dogs and I are celebrating a quiet day by ourselves. Have stuff to make rotini with white clam sauce. Guess clams are the new turkey!

Wish I'd known sooner I'd have extended my invite to you sooner!!

I will be celebrating with my parents, my boys and our long time family friend Ian. Ian has been attending festivities with our family for more than 10 years... his parents both passed when he was young (he was 9 or 10 when his mom passed and in his mid 20's when his dad passed). In years past we've had various friends join us for our Thanksgiving dinner...

Evening folks, long, weird day here. Friend's sister is in a coma, or close to it after being rear-ended into oncoming DC area traffic this morning. They have 4 kids. :( That being said, ended up helping my friend's oldest daughter run their business for a couple of hours. For a 14 y/o, she sure did well! I was proud of her, I'd suspect her parents would be as well.

Came home to Blondie having another asthma treatment. And my sister isn't feeling well (nothing serious). Its just been a whacked day.

Cat, I'm glad everyone got accepted to HWAC and all the humans returned safely. Hope Lorraine feels better soon.

Permie/Lonnie...agree with you guys. Too much. Yet there'll always be folks arguing the other side just for the sake of arguing.

ANYWAY, going to bed before the grumpies rub off on anyone. Hope everyone has a fantastic day tomorrow, no matter what your plans/lack of plans.

Oh MY Diane! I'm so sorry!!!! ((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))
