HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERYONE!!!

Just popping in long enough to say "hey", managed to get through last night's song...good thing, I was the only Alto that showed. :| Came home and baked the pumpkin pies last night, pecan pie this morning, turkey went in 7:30ish and is smelling oh so good. Curtis J and family should be shortly.

I've started a MQ that I will get back too later. Wanted to share my last minute list yesterday...Coffee and Dragon (as in How to train)...I figured it was a pretty perfect list, just needed a few more characters. :D

Hundreds... that's it?? LOL I send thousands...

Sounds like you keep busy! I've had a few months that went over 1000, but it's usually in the 500-750 range for me.

While on the Millennium Falcon, Why does Chewbacca wear a headset? I mean, Han is right there. They're smugglers, so it's not like they're going to be chatting with a bunch of other ships, right? Therefore, under the scrutiny of this overwhelming evidence, I must conclude that Chewie has an iPod.

In summary, I would like to know what Chewie has on his playlists.

Quick question. What does Color Space setting in the menu mean? My camera is set for sRGB and dads 5D Adobe RGB, will the 2 different settings give different output?

Without going into a long winded explanation, use sRGB. It's better for viewing on a computer/via the web.

And, if you're shooting RAW, it doesn't matter what the setting in the camera is set to. That only affects the JPGs. With RAW, you make that selection when you process the file.

G'morning and Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Consider yourselves hugged.

Those are GORGEOUS! I've missed seeing a lot of good photos around here!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!

We are going over to a friend's house to celebrate with a couple of families. I'm bringing a salad and a pumpkin pie (which I need to go make). I'm especially grateful this year on this day because last year Mike was in Japan for Thanksgiving and the kids and I were here alone and sick. I didn't cook anything. We had a wonderful surprise though - an American family that we know here brought us take-away from their Thanksgiving dinner. So sweet.

Thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Have a great day.

Thanks, it is in the yard to eat birds at my feeders. I am fine with that. It is not often, but a few times a year we see hawks hit the feeder and I enjoy seeing them doing their natural thing. Just so long as they don't eat Mr. White Ears. Erm, he is a squirrel I am fond of

lol!!

Happy Thanksgiving! May your day be filled with happy, in whatever form that takes for you. For us, it is loud, crowded, getting in the way, taking sides during the football games and insulting each others choices, forgetting that one dish that completes the meal (we are undecided if it will be the cranberries or the yams *shudder* this year, lol), probably a food fight of some sort and a HUGE mess. In other words, perfection :D

On a more serious note, I truly am grateful for my family. It is brought home to me upon occasion that I have a very special one. It is easy to get caught up in the petty day to day stuff and be annoyed with loved ones, to the point that sometimes all communication comes to a halt. I have striven to overcome my own inner child where some of that is concerned. In fact, my Sister in law and I are becoming close, and I truly am enjoying her uniqueness. Of course it helps that she put down the bottle ;)
There are enough people in the world to fight with, ones family should not be in that number.

Be well :D

aww Miss, I echo your sentiments. Happy thanksgiving to you guys.

Thanks, that's what I used. I must change like 6 menu options when I use his camera and always have to remember what his settings were.

[Serious post, read at your own peril]

Thanksgiving. It's been around for some time. Not just the holiday, but as long as we, the human race, have been around. As the word says, it's giving thanks. It's a verb. An action. It's where a person sets their will to be thankful for something. Some aspect of their life that brings joy, relief, refuge that they're glad isn't different than it is.

We've set aside a day specifically for the purpose of Giving Thanks. To cast an eye over their lot and find those nuggets in the maelstrom we call life that give us warmth.

Thanksgiving isn't about food. It isn't a pit stop between Hallowe'en and Christmas. It isn't the line of demarcation that separates "Black Friday" from the rest of the calendar. It isn't about football. It isn't, surprisingly, about friends and family getting together for the feast. It isn't even comparing what you have to what others do not.

It's about taking inventory of your soul and being thankful. Thankful that you can give and receive love. That you have what you have.

For me, I have a loving wife. I have great kids... and grandkids. A roof over my head, clothes on my back and food for the table. I have a job. I have cherished friends. I have my health. My brain, such as it is, still functions. I can laugh, cry, love.

In a way, I think that it's sad that we need to create a day wherein we pause in the rush of living to give thanks.

Thanksgiving isn't a day. Thanksgiving is a mindset.

[/serious post, read at your own peril]

Thanks for being some of those cherished friends in my life.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Nicely put Dan. Your words are very true.

I think the same should be said for Valentines Day, Birthdays, Mothers/Fathers Day, Anniversaries, etc. Why just celebrate the day, celebrate for life. :D
