here the first question is "is it an old person or someone on meth?"

I haven't stopped them to give a drug test, but the ones I see on my daily commute look enough like elderly men to make me think that's just what they might be... ;)

I see the same general mentality in all drivers, though, as we have discussed right here in this thread not too long ago. There's just something innate in the human brain that makes most people dead set and determined not to let another car get ahead of them, whether it's in the same lane or not. Pass by a slow car in the next lane over on the highway and chances are they're going to hit the gas to get back in the lead, like it's a race. Drive in front of someone in the same lane long enough -- no matter how fast you're going over the speed limit -- and they will eventually get frustrated enough to risk damaging their car and others' to get around you, then cut you off as they immediately swerve back into "your" lane. Then, more often than not, they will continue driving far slower than the both of you were going to begin with.

I've driven about a half million miles over the past decade. I've seen it all. Especially since I moved to Palmdale three years ago and now commute 55 miles each way every work day.

I do appreciate the offer. Just felt like it would be odd to intrude on family time.
