On a much more sobering note, a link to this video popped up in my e-mail this morning. It's part of an anti-drunk driving campaign in Australia and conveys a message we all should keep in mind this time of year.

WARNING!!! The video pulls no punches and is very graphic in places. Watch at your own risk...

Graphic, to say the least. I know the UK also has some pretty hard hitting adverts too.

After the month in Australia, I did notice their zero tolerance to drink driving. Anyone who has a drivers license less than three years old, or are under 25 cannot even have a sip of alcohol and then drive. Anything over 0.00 mg of alcohol in the blood and you lose your license. About time they did that in other places. They are tough!

Come back to the US, and it is all ads for drugs on TV for all your ailments, but no ads saying "don't do this / that"....

Harm, I agree. The steps that are taken in the US to combat traffic deaths are half-hearted at best. The California hands-free cell phone law is a good example. Researchers have determined that taking on a phone wile driving is as dangerous as drunk driving, yet the penalties are a fine of $20.00 for the first offense and $50.00 for each subsequent offense. The law is widely ignored because it has no teeth...

"Both benefit Potomac Valley Pekingese to the tune of $6/copy." - not "Sale price is $6 a copy". Production cost for 1-4 copies is $12.49 apiece; I set the purchase price at $20 and Lulu takes 20% of the difference, leaving $6.01 for PVPC. For the club, I took pre-orders through Dec. 1 and used my bulk purchasing to get my cost down to $9-$10 at the same retail price so the club gets $10. Anyone who buys one gets a statement that $6 (on-line) or $10 (direct) is considered a tax-deductible charitable contribution since we're a recognized 501(c)(3) charity. Buying in bulk and sending them out myself I can charge less shipping than Lulu does, as well. I've been doing this since 2007. We usually pre-sell around 40 copies and pick up another dozen or so on-line sales. Every little bit helps.

Oh I see. And it's a good cause. I was just wondering how you managed to get Lulu down that low. Now I get it.

Heather just bought me a set of Emerilware by All-Clad. (external link) I'd been wanting stainless cookware for a while and this was on sale at the Exchange.

those look very nice.

Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger? That scene is one of the tamer ones in the movie...

yes. I don't know what the movie is but that was who the actors are. Gads.

I am interested. Your beans should be nearly indecipherable from the Sigri that you purchased. In color and size (size may vary depending on what grade you bought...if you bought triage then it will have some as big as the Sigri and other random sizes in there). Color should be nearly identical.

And the only bad thing about purchasing the hotop on ebay is if there's an issue, no customer support. But yes, that is a very good buy.

I will check the beans to see how they compare. That is, when I get both of them.

I'm hoping it stays at bay through the weekend. Turns out the surgery isn't exactly scheduled. Since he isn't an emergency they are working at fitting MB into the schedule for either tomorrow, probably afternoon or Saturday morning. I'll be driving Mom up to Madison to wait with my SIL.

I'll hope for tomorrow for you then, it's suppose to be the clearest day. Stay safe!

I wish they would do that in the States, I really do.

StormPulse is saying 50% chance of snow with accumulations of 1-2 inches here, 4-5 in Madison from this afternoon through the night. Could be interesting if it does indeed dump.

On a good note, we'd be driving I90 so plenty of snow removal, on a bad note I90 is notorious for bad drifting through that stretch.
