 I looked out the window to see if there was snow yet and nothing. Not even 5 minutes later I HEAR the wind and then I see snow blowing almost horizontally already sticking to the windows.

It. has. begun.

Jim, did you ever find out if the Captain's coffee would ship to Canada?
Mine came today. Coffee looks good. But they were very slow on shipping, well they shipped right away but chose the slowest way. I get roastmasters/sweet marias 2 days after order but it took this order 9 days to get here.

Jim, p.s.

I ordered this:
http://www.thecaptainscoffee.com …uct_id=145&category_id=16 (external link)

and it looks like a nice large bean (very similar to the sigri) I'm looking forward to trying it.

and this is a fabulous coffee that RARELY stays in stock at SM for long.

I can't remember if I checked, but did just send them an email asking.

Great shots, Jon. Love to see that there are more sides to you than that heavy handed moderator one. (oh, there is that dog loving side too, you may just be more multi-faceted than first thought ;))

It's post a picture, any picture that you haven't posted before day.

Good idea!

A snap from a very special place some may recognize.

It was funny because of the snow day, I had to bring the boys to work with me while we waited for my dad's class to let out so he could come get them. So they are looking at the calendar hanging on my office wall and asked about the little black puppy... I told them they had met that little puppy... except she was bigger now.. And they asked if it was our neighbors dog... I played them along for a min and said that she had ridden with us in the van... that we were far from home... LOL hehehehe The were SO shocked that it was Zoe-dots!!

Lol!

I have to bother you all again for prayers and good thoughts. Got a call this morning from my Mom. MB is in the hospital again, tomorrow they will be doing surgery to remove a brain tumor. All are optimistic on the surgery, but cancer is evil and who knows where else it maybe lurking. Even though they did a full CAT scan, one never knows. So please send good stuff too both my MB and my mom, it has been a rough year for her, she doesn't need this added worry. And it dawned on me this is the same time of year her own mother died while in surgery for a brain tumor back in the early 60's.:(

TIA

hope all goes well.

Harm, I agree. The steps that are taken in the US to combat traffic deaths are half-hearted at best. The California hands-free cell phone law is a good example. Researchers have determined that taking on a phone wile driving is as dangerous as drunk driving, yet the penalties are a fine of $20.00 for the first offense and $50.00 for each subsequent offense. The law is widely ignored because it has no teeth...

The notion that being on the phone is as dangerous as drunk driving is ridiculous or at least a grand twist of reality. If there were as many people driving impaired as on the phone there would be many many many more wrecks. I am sure some activist trumped up that fact trying to get cell phone legislation passed. Unfortunately I wonder how many kids are going "driving drunk is no worse than being on a cell phone"

While I don't have a huge issue with cell phone laws they, like many laws, are already in place but just in a different form. Almost all states have a distracted driving law. If you are not paying attention then an officer can write you a ticket. Hands free laws are brought up by politicians wanting to tout what laws they have passed and I believe do little to make us safer. I will probably drive with one hand if I have a phone in my hand or not and just because I have an ear piece does not stop me from dialing and answering the phone which is really the most distracting part. Fumbling with an ear piece or blue tooth controls is a heck of a lot more distracting than holding a phone to your ear. Also how is talking on the phone any different than carrying on a conversation with people in a car?
