Its been a long time I played Starcraft, ever switch from one race to another? The whole learning of tech ladder, strategies, etc.
I feel like that now that my 7D arrived today...
Can't stop giggling though

Picked my 7D up at FedEx this evening. Had a bunch of stuff to do, so I didn't have much time to play with it. Took it out of the packaging and looked it over pretty closely. If someone had this camera before, and used it, I sure can't tell. Not a mark on it. No wear on the strap rings, no wear in the battery compartment, no wear anywhere. You would have a hard time convincing me that this camera is not brand new.

Just picked up a 5DII for 1875. I'm jealous of all you people who got it on here for 1600. But for everyone else who is still waiting on the deal to come back, i wouldn't wait on it. I spoke with one of the reps earlier and they said they're not even thinking about putting it back on the CLP basically because they're selling so well for the $2k price tag refurbished.

I think they only had it on the program for maybe a month before they yanked it off. I was one of the lucky few who got one for cheap. it was a good deal. I guess they figured they were losing money. now if only they would put lenses on the program

Currently a brand new 7D body can be had for $1,394. Site says 1 yr Canon warranty included. That's a great price for brand new!! Limited time offer on this price...see post for details, and do your own further research on this if you're unsure about the seller.........

Pward lenses would be awesome. I would never have any money then so i guess not having them on there is a good balance.

Seriously doubt it. They're making way too much money off of it being sold refurbished, why lose profit?
Price might drop a bit once the III arrives, but i hear the III isnt coming out until next fall, and it'll be the same just like when the II came out. You'll have to dish out a lot of cash and be extremely lucky to find one.

A big thank you for putting this together, great help.

I have a couple of questions if I may.

1. I wish to buy a refurbished Canon 7D. On page 1 of this thread, it states the 7D price under the CLP program is $1,119.00, and the price in the Canon Direct Store for a refurbished 7D is $1,359.00.

Which one is correct?

2. Sending in any broken old Canon camera reduces the price of the Refurbished 7D by 20%, this would bring down the price of the 7D on the Canon Direct Store website from $1,359 to $1088, is this correct?

If so this is great since it's a saving of around $500 on retail 7D body prices. Could buy a nice lens with the saved money.

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L (I)
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8
Canon EFS 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
Canon EFS 55-250mm f/4-5.6

CLP *is* "bring a broken camera".

Those 20% is for reference only based on history. You MUST call the number to find out the price.

Sorry I don't get what you mean by that. Is there a 20% discount given we trade in a broken camera, or is it the case that the prices for the refurbished cameras are already discounted 20% to begin with?

There is no 20%. Canon do not state that they knock 20% off the price or indeed any set amount - they merely give a price under the program. Other people have worked out that in the past that has provided a price reduction of roughly 20%.

At least, as I understand it.

So the camera has to be broken? I thought it just has to be out of warranty.

broken or out of warranty - basically...to verify, you call give them serial number of camera you want to trade..they don't ask if it's broken or not..based on serial they tell you yes or no...

if you look at refurb page, the price has generally been 20% off that listed price...but there's no guarantee...you want a guarantee on the price? call...
