So what info do you give them when you call? Do I need to have the camera I'm turning in with me... or can I get one after making the order, just as long as I have it in time to return it.

Also, how fast is the normal shipping, and what does it cost to get 2nd day shipping... Im in California if that helps. Will be goin for a 60D body only and no lens or speedlite

When I did it, they asked me what kind of camera I would be recycling. There have been people who posted here that have said they were asked for the s/n.

IIRC, they used FedEx ground. Not sure about expedited shipping.

They asked me for the type of camera only and said they would send postage paid packaging with my 60D. They didn't send the paid pack and I didn't mail the old camera in. They have never inquired about it either.

When I called I talked to a man named Richard, he told me he would give me a call back when the 5D2's come back in stock. He told me to be prepared to give him the s/n of the camera I'm sending in, he said he would need that to make it happen.

I ordered a 60D yesterday and they wanted the camera type and s/n before I could pay.

the standard shipping is around 5 days and 2nd day air is 25 dollar surcharge

Ah cool. I think I will just go for 2nd day then if I can. Gotta wait and see what the total is, if I even buy from them. Found a refurb selling localish and he said he only put 3-400 clicks on it going for 600 bucks... I REALLY wish i had the money right now >.< Hopefully this week.

got my 5d2 with 640 clicks.

It really does seem that it depends on what rep you get when you call.

When I put my order in, not only did she not ask for the serial number or anything, but she didn't even ask what model or type or anything of camera I would be sending in. She just gave me the whole "well, we'll be sending you a shipping label for your old camera" speech.

So you disagree because 7k is 'a year of shooting' to someone who shoots casually? Fine. If paying ~30% more to get an expected 7% more durability out of something seems like a wise move to you, then feel free to return it and go purchase brand new. Hardly makes sense to me.

20-30% more expensive but with piece of mind and longer warranty.

that was what I thought too ... I was so looking forward to get a low count 7D when I first bought it... especially given the price for it. However, when I checked the actuation using the method outlined on pg 1, i was pretty disappointed... especially after the 3rd camera. I wonder if those who reported low actuation number do actually checked it correctly....

When I got my 7D, I looked into getting a 3rd party warranty on it. I could have gotten a MAC 2-year warranty w/ accidental damage coverage, and still saved money over the price of a new 7D.

I never got my shipping labels, and the link to print them didn't work. I called CLP several times about it, as I didn't want to get hit for the other 20% if they didn't get the recycled camera in time, and they eventually sent me the shipping labels via snail mail.

12 clicks on my 5dmarkii--- very pleased.. I had problems with their g11's, returned 2 before got a good one. first one didn't dial through pictures, second had not one, but two burned pixels, and this one is PERFECT

So I have heard some say film cameras work, some say they don't. I might be able to get my hands on an old film rebel... But before I do that, I wanna know if film would work or not guaranteed for the CLP ...or at least whats the chances of getting someone there that will take a film camera
