Pulled the trigger and bought a 7d with the EF 24-105L IS USM lens. Purchased on Saturday and paid the overnight shipping fee, camera arrived on Tuesday. Very happy with the purchase. The shutter count on the camera is 131, but the website shown on page 1 charges $1.49 to obtain the shutter count.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the total price you paid for this?

I'm also curious because I can't be the only person who got 15% off the normal discount.

The difference is amazing! o_O

Edit: although, it must be said, the battery charge is dropping at an alarming rate – I spent 30 minutes playing with menus and I took eight pictures, yet the battery is already down to 88% from a full charge.

Jim K, you are a lucky man to have a wife like that. Whenever UPS leaves just an envelope with a memory card in it I get the 3rd degree. Fortunately I have the expensive stuff sent to work.

ps: Don't tell on me.

Would never tell because I do the same thing (stuff shipped to work) . I figure what she doesn't know won't hurt me.

If wifey sees this post I'll be sleeping at work!!!

Yes, but consider having a partner who will agree to a Full Frame landscape kit of a 5D3 and three L lenses :)

Of course for our anniversary and Christmas I will probably only get a Lexar 16 GB 1000x CF card and be reminded about the earlier gift.

You should demand bigger and better things (a bright-red Lambo maybe?), citing such a pricey purchase during the regular season :)

Doesn't matter what the wife agrees to if you don't gots no money to buy it. And having a wife certainly does deplete the savings accounts.

If I didn't have a wife and kids, I'd be driving a Mercedes to work. Instead I have a bus pass and a bike! (wouldn't trade it, though, life would be too boring)

Hey Guys,

is there any resource out there that talks about where you can find "camera qualification". my 7D's USB port is wiggling... not working anymore, would it be qualified?

Thanks Ahead.

Probably a better deal to sell it or fix it.

Anyone know if a basic powershot would work to get a 60d kit? Ive been trying to find something local and on ebay to trade in.

From further reading that looks to be the case, a fellow member here sold me one for 15 bucks. I will try calling today to place an order

edit: 60d 18-200mm kit purchased successfully

Well I finally went ahead and pulled the trigger, waiting on 70-200 2.8 was just not gonna do any longer, called today and turned in a broken p&s for a 7d and 17-40L. Broken point and shoot was given to me by a member of our local Camera Club Now I just sit and wait for arrival. Have to pick up that 70-200 a little later!

Just an "ole dog" trying to learn "new tricks"! helpful advice is always welcome!!
