Not sure if anyone is aware of this, the 7D dropped in pride by about 50.00. Just ordered one for 1023.00 plus tax..Could not pass on that deal!

I'm really shocked the price of the 5D2 refurb hasn't dropped what with the recent price drop of the BNIB 5D Mark II to $1799 at most of the major players.

Me too! I have an old point-n-shoot that is waiting for the right price on a 5D II through CLS. I am having fun with the 7D though, so I can be patient.

I just purchased a new 5d2 because of that price drop.

I'm having an issue with warranty repair for my refurb. d60 and 24-105L.
Got system in early july, but returned because I wasn't too happy to have gotten a camera with baby sized greasy fingerprints on the mirror! Replacement was sent on 7/26, less than 90 days ago.

I sent had to send second camera in for service the other day. However Canon seems to be suggesting warranty is based on date of first camera's purchase!

I hope this works out - I may be dealing with someone in the e-mail department who's just a bit too quick with the cutting and pasting of canned responses, so I'm not sure... But has anyone else had this when-does-90-days-start issue?

* UPDATE : I called in and they updated that 90 days from date of replacement kit's order date.

My experience has been you don't restart the warranty period if you send in an RMA, you get the bulk of the remaining, not a restart. If that were the case, within a week of the 90 days, I'd be perpetually sending my 7D back for some 'minor issue' that they would have to either fix, or refund me (meaning that for the time I had it, I basically was getting a 7D - well in the above scenario, many 7Ds - for free).

If auto-offed for more than 3-4 minutes it will not come back on from auto-off unless you pull the battery. Even cycling the on/off switch won't do it.

Smooth transaction initiating the return and creating a new order (quicker that way) along with overnight shipping included.

Ok the other 7D refurb arrived today. Looking great, working great and I just finished updating to the latest firmware

That would be my understanding as well. You should get 90 days of protection from the date your first delivery.

From the very first post: " One important note: If you return the trade-in during the 14 days, the sale is considered completed and final. In other words, you will not be able to return the camera for a refund if you have shipped your trade-in back to Canon."

Even though I bought my 50D as a refurb and it was and still is perfect, I mailed the broken P&S back the day I got the 50D..I missed the above note. Is it wise to wait a few days? I thought I read somewhere you just lose your broken camera..Is this a new policy? A 7D will be here on monday and to be honest I was very torn about choosing this over another body.

Is there a new price for the 7D?
