I'm very excited for you! 10 months ago I was unboxing my refurbed 60D.

Which lenses did you decide on?

Thanks :)
18-55mm and 50mm 1.8
Just couple of hours ago I received the 18-55mm (finally), I think it's partly my fault for ordering it in the weekend and part on the seller for not offering another method of shipment.

Folks, a little old news (~6hr) but there are some 'not-so-sought-after' lenses for 30% off (refurb) on canon direct usa store. Has been reported in market watch but in case someone missed.

Does anyone have any insight on a possible price drop for the CLP 60D for the holidays/Black Friday? I'm considering picking up another one.

I've asked that question and you can guess what the response was. Here is a clue, they have about as much control as we do in their pricing. :)

I think there will be a price drop, just because the 70D is around the corner in the few next months,
I don't think it will be a huge one thou, the t2i kept it's price for a long time even after they start selling the t3i.

I'd expect the price drop on several bodies to come around February or March. The demand will stay high enough at current prices through the holiday season that they won't need to do anything additional to keep things moving.

FYI, for those interested in refurbed Rebels there has been a price drop during Canon's newest sale.

T1i= $245, $286 w/18-55 is ii
T2i= $307, $358 w/18-55 is ii
T3i= $383, $447 w/18-55 is ii
T3= $351 w/18-55 is ii

If you buy a body or body+kit lens, you get half off refurbished 55-250 is, 75-300 f4-5.6 III or 18-135 is.

The refurbed rebel prices are marked down 20% just like the CLP for this sale, so that makes me wonder if the CLP now has these listed in the sale as their fixed prices for the holiday season.

***Oh, and Canon is also running a free ground shipping promo with this (over $100 and it is free)

Anybody know if the current discount promotion ($100 off $500+ refurb purchase) applies to CLP purchases?

Does the program work on a one-for-one basis? More specifically, PNS for PNS, DSLR for DSLR? Or can you use a PNS (like a Powershot) for a DSLR?

I've got a Canon Powershot that I would use as my "family vacation" camera, since most of the time I'd rather enjoy my family and get snap shots to create memories than to compose a photo and lug around a DSLR....anyway. The lens stopped working on it, it's jammed, during our last trip to the coast and I bought a newer PNS to replace it so now I'm wondering if I can use it in the CLP towards possibly a 60D or 7D. Anyone know?
