if i got a 2nd body, id feel more inclined to go back to primes from zooms...

i carried 2 bodies back in my pj and Air Force days and i SUPPOSE i could get into 2 again but these things are just way too big and bulky...

no, i think im set for bodies...

-im just trying. sometimes i succeed

Just made the jump to FF today through the CLP.

I got the 5D III for 2280.94 and the 24 - 105 for 616.83.

After sales tax and shipping the total came to $3182. They also gave me a free "gadget bag", but I am not sure what that will be like.

Hopefully everything will look and work good when I get it, so I don't have to mess with sending anything back.

Now for the hard part. Waiting....

I picked up a 5d3 from the program a few weeks ago. Came in great condition and less than 100 actuations according the gphoto2.

The gadget bag I received is a Canon 200DG, This one. (external link) It is only OK, well worth the price I paid for it though. One thing I do like about it is that it is a little taller then most of your common low end gadget bags so it has a little more room for taller lenses.

Good luck, I am sure it will be a great camera.

EDIT: I found the compatibility list on the gadget bag somewhat amusing.

The front page had it advertised as 2280. So it might of been a mistake. Going wait till they have a few other stuff back in stock for that 20% off.

Just got my 5D3 in today, 2581.57 delivered, free camera bag thrown in as well. Checked the shutter count, a whopping 7 (that's SEVEN) only! No dings or scratches, camera looks like nobody ever touched it.

Very happy!!

40D, 5D3, a bunch of lenses and other things

Just ordered 5D3 with 24-105L. Camera was still $2379, lens was 30% off, $643. With Florida sales tax and free camera bag and shipping, total came to $3204.14

Now the wait...

Oh, by the way, they didn't care about a trade in.

What??? I asked for a 24-105 but they lady told me that it was $960! I would have definitely taken it for $640

My camera is perfect though, so I can't complain.

It took a while for the girl to figure out that it was available. Spent almost 30 minutes talking about just the lens. Finally she punched it in the computer as part of the sale and it came up 30% off. Was worth the wait :D

From the first post in this thread:

Is the program available in Canada, UK, Australia, Asia, South America, Africa, etc? Currently this program is for the United States only. It has been reported that Canon Canada is considering a similar program, but that is not confirmed yet. If you are outside the United States, I would check with your Canon National Sales Office.

Contact information for worldwide offices can be found at http://www.canon.com/ (external link)

Please report back if there is a similar program available for Canada, and I'll update the first post.

Good luck!

5D3 came today with 24-105 and bg200 bag. Nice bag. Fits camera with lens, plus 430EX flash, 70-200 F4L IS with tripod ring, 40STM, spare battery and charger, cables and cleaning misc. Camera had 949 clicks on it. Looks like brand new, as does the lens.
