I got my T2i today and it came in very good shape almost new. I checked the continuous shoot and it was around 1500 when I got it. Is this a very high number?

Not really--an average person might put about 500 shots on a body in a single day out shooting in the field. Still, that's rather high for a refurbished unit.

I came up with around 1500 clicks from the continuous pictures is that number accurate?

The continuous picture counter is fairly accurate, in that the actual actuation count cannot be below that number. So bare-minimum, it has 1500 shots on the counter. It's possible it is higher if it was ever previously manually reset, though unlikely for a refurb.

For a refurb, that's actually one of the highest numbers I've seen. It's not something to get upset enough to demand a replacement though.

My wifes CLP 7D came with 3400'ish shots on it (exact number is somewhere back in this thread) and the top LCD screen cover had a few visible scuffs and scratches on it. It works great though, absolutely no complaints.

Yeah that's not refurbished, that's USED. lol.

I almost sent back my wifes, not due to the shutter count, but from the top screen being scratched up. I was under the impression that the refurbs were supposed to come in "like new" physical condition.

think of it this way....a refurb is a camera that was returned to the place of purchase for any number of reasons.

Adorama for example, sells refurbs and backs them up with a 1 year warranty. anytime during that warranty period, a buyer can contact Adorama, and return the camera if it malfunctions. Adorama will replace the camera with the same model, or issue a credit for the full amount (awesome deal by the way.).

anyway....I'm sure Adorama sends those units to Canon for repair, and Canon probably repackages it and sells it as a refurb.

Or they can have simply been pulled from the production line if something appears faulty, or if it hasn't passed the final inspection. Most of the time it's a very minor issue that needs correcting, nevertheless, once it is pulled from the normal flow of production, it gets flagged as a refurbished model, so you may get a unit straight from the factory that has never been used.

Adorama has to be the fastest shipper I've ever experienced. I ordered a new 7D two weeks ago via standard and it came the next day, lol. I'm always shocked at how fast the packages arrive.
