I was able to snag a 16gb 600x Lexar Pro off of eBay a few months ago for $120 shipped which I thought was a pretty good deal.

Not trying to turn this into a CF price thread, sorry.

The t1i is better than the xsi, but only marginally. You may as well pay a little bit more and get at least a t2i through the program

Thanks for the input, but the reviews I read said the t2i wasn't that much better than the t1i.

I'd be interested to hear how the t2i is better than the t1i..

Well, you did, and it's a good thing because my 7D is arriving tomorrow I just realized that there's not a single CF card in the house.

You saved me from this, Me: "Honey, I've got to to Costco right away." Her: "That's nice of you sweetheart but I can do the grocery shopping tomorrow." Me: "I'll just go now." Her: "You're going camera shopping, aren't you?" Me: "No honey, I'm just hooking up with an old girlfriend." Her: "Ok, as long as you promise you're not going camera shopping."

And thanks for mentioning the deal at Newegg. I would normally insist on Sandisk but the reviews look pretty good, and it's about the same price at Amozon, with no tax and free shipping. (But I paid an extra $3.99 so that it gets here tomorrow, along with the 7D.) Transcend 32 GB Compact Flash Card 400X

Not much better, but still a little better. Here is an article on t1i vs t2i. But with only an additional $32 for the T2i, it is not like it is a major setback on your wallet.

Ordered my 7D Tuesday morning; it arrived this morning; looks brand new; sensor is spotless; waiting impatiently for battery to charge! What an awesome deal.

The t2i is a pretty massive upgrade over the t1i. Looking at specs on paper won't tell the whole story. The t2i is basically a baby-7d. If you don't recognize the t2i's superiority, you likely never used both cameras!

I was happy w/ the recent deal I got on Lexar Pro 400x 16gb cards. Had I known how easy it is to burn through 500+ RAW images when shooting sports @ 8fps, I probably would have gone w/ 32gb cards. But that's from more of a convenience standpoint than anything else. I guess it's really not that big a deal to change cards. But hey, I'm a sucker for a good deal!

Actually, I feel your pain. I HATE having to carry around extra cards and swap... ever. It's bad enough I have to manage multiple extra batteries between different bodies.

I hardly ever shoot in raw anymore for the normal stuff--I hate using up extra space for images I'm unlikely to ever post-process. Since I primarily use SSDs on my computers, I don't typically have enough room to store so many raw images--all that stuff goes on the external drives, and that can be slowwwwwww to access over usb 2.0.

I hear you, however, it's nice to be able to separate games by card. The 16gb cards in my 7D give me ~ the same # of shots as an 8gb card in my 40D. So I've sold off almost all of my cards that are <8gb. The 8gb cards have been relegated to the 40D, and the 16gb cards get used on the 7D. Works out well, as the 16gb cards are 60mb/s and the 8gb cards are 30mb/s. Although, until my 120-300 f/2.8 comes in, I haven't been shooting the 40D at all.

Don't worry, they haven't sent my return label yet (said it could take 48 hours). Yours will ship by tomorrow and mine won't be back until at the earliest sometime early next week.

Hope we all get lucky with ours here on out! My new one may be here tomorrow.

Good luck with the new one tomorrow. Really hope I don't run into any issues when mine comes, but it is nice to know there don't seem to be any issues getting a replacement.
