I took avi files off the CF and put them on my pc. I do not have them on the camera CF.
I have dvd writer/player for my TV (LiteOn). How can I play the avi file do the dvd writer can burn it to dvd? In short I want a avi file burned onto dvd. Problem is the dvd is for my TV not connected to my pc or laptop. Niether the laptop or desktop have av out jacks.
My mistake was taking the avi file off the camera compact disk.
Thanks

Why not just copy the files back to your CF card if that would help? It'd be very easy to do with a card reader.

(I'm assuming you're on a Windows PC. If not, one of the Mac users will have to help)
Your DVD burner should have come with DVD authoring software. Typically Nero, Roxio or Sonic. Find which one you have, open it up, and there should be an option to create a DVD. When it asks for the source video, simply select the avi file you downloaded to your PC and follow the prompts to make a DVD.

There is a serious consideration that should not be overlooked when creating cd or dvd of videos.
There are DVD players (the newer models) that will show all kinds of things that an ordinary, older model DVD player will NOT do - such as show a slide show of jpg files written to the DVD or CD as a data disk. Generally speaking a DVD player will not play anything that is a Windows program, for obvious reasons - there's no Windows running in a DVD player - so things like power point slide shows, avi files and quick time mov files are out.

However, the DVD authoring software and the CD burning software can produce a variety of VCD and DVD movies. The newer DVD players can play CD's burned as "Video CD" and all DVD players will play a true video DVD as produced by the DVD movie making tools.

So, in essence, you really need to know what your end objective is and get on the right path to that end.

My personal preference is the Sonic product called MyDVD - it burns a nice movie that you can make up from video clips and/or individual stills.
