I went for a walk with Dancan this morning and we were lucky enough to spot quite a few G B H's most of them were to skittish to stalk , but there were a few that we didn't scare away , these are a few of them Hope you enjoy C & C welcome.

Great shot, beautiful animal. The photo looks a little over saturated for my taste.

I also like #3, except for the end of his bill being cut off. Still, nice shots.

Great shots, liv2. You're really getting up close and personal.

If the last two are crops, you might want to give the bird a little more room to the right
so it's not looking out of the frame.

Nice shots, great 1000 yard stare on the heron's face!

I've been trying to get some heron shots the past couple of days as there's one feeding at the local park. So far the bird has taken off as soon as I've gotten within 200 yards - anyone got any tips on sneaking up on these guys?

I wish there were tips for sneaking up on these guys every time I have tried I have scared them away,, we got lucky here he kind of snuck up on us , we were walking and he didnt take flight just sat there till we were kinda bored with him then I tried unsucessfully at first to scare him into flight so Dancad could get some shots took a hell of alot of noise till he took off ,,, wierd freakin birds lol
