I really like the expression and posture the girl has. That's a real Mona Lisa smile :) The image looks overall good with good subject definition and separation.

Only problem is what is in the background. Not the overexposure, but content. If this is a portrait, not impromptu street candid shot, then the background should have been be picked more carefully to support the portrait. An odd vertical dark bar on the right is the main culprit. With overexposing background a lot you can get interesting shapes and colors there, but they also need to be placed into composition so that they do not distract.

Thanks Pekka
The picture was taken around noon and this was the place where I had soem shade which I used to place here, there was clutter on RHS. I will try to process the back ground a bit to take the tree out and see what can be done.

I think Pekka referred to the bar coming out from the girls left shoulder, it pulls attention away from her beautiful smile. Although taking the tree out of it helps greatly.

For a portrait of a child it looks too contrasty and hard for me.

With her angelical face and spirited smile, I think she pulls the look quit nicely.
Only thing missing is an Ice Cream truck as she looks towards Papà, in hopes of coins for a sweet treat.

THM: actually that was the reason she was out there
@Themadman: will check the impact on tonning down the contrast and color slightly

Very Nice work .....esp removing the distractions - looks better now and I also agree that it is a tad hard for a child's photo,
As long as you are reprocessing for contrast, I would suggest trying some black and white variations also. This would eliminate the magenta/lime green thing you got going :)

She has the charm to make any of them work, the B&W is nice also. Maybe bring down the backgrounds brightness a smig

I hope you got her all the ice cream she wanted, that pose is priceless. Try to get that look on purpose with the mixture of emotions, is something you just hope your setup for when it happens.
Keep at it and all things are possible.

My nieces and nephews would run when ever they saw me coming, they knew I was gonna wear them out taking pictures. They had fun though.
