After this gig, I've decided that my most wanted lens is the 200 f/2 IS. The borrowed 70-200 f/2.8 IS was too slow, even at ISO 6400 (like all indoor sports). I had to revert back to my trusty 135L. Anyways, please post some C&C if you can. I'd love to hear it.

Nice set! The thing I like most about it is sharpness and im impressed with image quality at high noise settings (even after processing). Number 4 is awesome and I would see it framed :)

One thing I would do to all of them is a different color balance. Could be better but im not sure. Just a thought.

I like the shots from a "non treditional" rodeo action stand point. I really like #1. What did you end up shooting thes at?

Canon markIIn - Nikon D3 and a bunch of other crap I probably dont need but think I do.

Thanks. What would you consider traditional rodeo action? These were shot at f/2, ISO 6400, 1/400 or 1/500 sec.

What I mean by non triditional is that in rodeo as in alot of sports there are shots that contestants buy. For example your calf roping shot while an excellent shot would appeal to the cowboy if it was a shotwith him having roped the calf and just stepping off. Your team roping shot has a header but no heeler. I like them both ,dont get me wrong but there not "my" money shots.

That is exactly what I'm talking about. These are the shots that I could sell. I'm not saying the others are not good, because I think they are great. They just are not shots that I can normally sell.

Thanks for the input Dale and thanks for the examples Blair. I'll have to try that positioning at my next rodeo.

no worries, if you are trying to sell pics, you may find that the rodeo crowd are pretty picky. even down to the leg positions of the horse etc as to wheather they buy or not.

Heck leg position. I got guys that won't buy if there pinky finger is wrong or toe is not turned to the perfect angle.

I like all of them. The last one is a little dark on her face (under the hat) but probably not much you could have done about it.

I haven't been to a rodeo since I was in Hawaii at the Parker Ranch.

I need to get back to one.
