Mike30D gave us a heads up that this train would be coming to Alma Saturday which is right next to my old home town, so I planned to get a few shots of it. Friday I scouted locations & found this bridge & the next day I was waiting for the train to come through. After an hour I heard it coming, but it was to my south & I was waiting on east/west tracks on the edge of town. So... screwed!

The H--- with it. I put the train into the pic of the bridge anyway.

I really like these... esp #2.

They just don't make things like this anymore.

Just awesome. It's almost like being there in the second photo.

Nice shots Frank, you have better shots than what I was able to get. I couldn't chase it all the way to Alma due to the limited time I had. I ended up shooting it in Carland and the light was just awful. I hear it's leaving tomorrow sometime to head back to Indiana.

Some of those might look good in b&W

I agree with Mike30D these would look good in B&W

Fifty years ago we had a rail line that ran threw central Illinois called the "Nickel Plate".

Old trains are just amazing, all the working parts visible. And I agree #2 should be in a frame on a wall!

#2 is amazing. Agree, it should be framed and on a wall.
