Hello
I been using my t2i for about a month now with zero issues.
Just today I had a problem. I tried to take pictures but now the camera won't allow me. I tried reformatting the card with no success. Now all I get is the message "Card cannot be accessed" and thats it.
Someone please help me.
Thanks

Now the strangest thing is that the card works in my old point and shoot camera and not the t2i.
Its a 32gb class 6 card and been working in the t2i for the past month

Is the lock switch in the on position on the card?

Have you tried to put an image on the card in the normal folder structure that canon uses?

this happen to me once in the middle of taking pictures. i was getting the card not accessible error message. the card wasn't accessible through my card reader either. i performed a low level format on the card using camera menu, which fixed it. my card was transcand class 10, 16gb.

You did not mention whether everything works OK if you use a different card in the camera. That is an important test, if you have not checked that out yet.

yeah the other card (2gb) worked great in the t2i.

I tried the 32 gb again and it still doesn't work. Tried formatting in the camera with no luck. The funny thing is the card works great in my old point and shoot

The 32 GB card may possibly have some acceleration features that can't be utilized by the P&S camera, so it might be a failure that would only affect a camera that can take advantage of UDMA.

I have that problem with my memory card from time to time. I just take the memory card out and put it back in and it fixes the problem. I think the leads on my memory card are cheap due to it being an adapter.

To rephrase what I was trying to state, your memory card might have failed in such a way that your DSLR is affected by the failure whereas the failure does not impact the P&S camera because it is not able to utilize hardware acceleration. It is just a thought, but given that your camera works fine with other cards, the problem appears to be with the card.

When cards start to fail, their behavior can be unpredictable. It could be something as simple as a slight difference in working voltage applied to the card or a small difference in noise margins between the two camera models. In simple terms, "noise margin" is the threshold that logic devices use to determine whether a bit is a "Logic 1" or a "Logic 0" when its value is somewhere in the "logic maybe" region. Nonvolatile RAM devices (like your memory card) do not output "hard" logic levels so if there is any write-back data verification, it could become an issue with both reading and writing to a flaky card.

This happens to me also. I have had the Canon T2i for a few months now, and I am getting the 'Card cannot be accessed message' more and more frequently. It happens with both of my memory cards. I have a SanDisk class 4 16GB, and a Delkin Class 6 32GB card. I pop them out and put them back in, and can't get rid of the message. The lock is not on. Very frustrating... not sure what to do. Contact Canon?

I hope this doesn't happen to me anymore, cards can get pretty expensive if I have to get them every month.

I bought a new card and so far its working great.

If it happens anymore to me I'll be contacting Canon christinegio just to see.
