Have been contemplating purchasing a WACOM Bamboo tablet for my MacBook Pro.

Just would like some feedback from other WACOM users on best model, size, etc for the purpose of doing PP using LR3 and CS5. I travel all over the big blue marble quite frequently, and PP on the road is a necessary task. Weight and size of the WACOM would also be a factor. I need one small and light enough to tote in a backpack, but still large enough to be functional.

Any feedback at all on these devices would be usefull!!

Thanks in Advance

I moved your thread to the "computer section". Makes a bit more sense I think.

Thanks Bob !

I have perused several of the WACOM threads, and Ironically they were all in the RAW PP thread, thats why I posted there instead of "computers".

Anyhoo, thanks and will check it out !

I have a WACOM A6 tablet which is on the small side and is easily transportable.

What do I think of it - well for somethings it's great - basically is you want to paint in masks or work freehand with an easily variable brush size then it's great.

For creating clipping paths with the pen tool I prefer the mouse as for me it is easier to be very accurate as I'm working off a more stable base.

I would not want to be without it because for what I use it for it is great. I don't however think I would want to use one to the exclusion of the mouse / track pad.

Now, if I had a Wacom Cintiq then I think I may change my mind.

I have both a bamboo fun and a Intuos4. I have taken the fun with me on trips but I use it for non serious work. If I was trying to do real PP work then I would pack the Intuos4.

I have a medium, but if I needed the portability then I would consider the small. But consider, the medium is about the same size at a laptop and is less than 1/2" thick. If you can't pack it with a laptop then you are doing something wrong.

Matt.

Thanks guys....

I use the adjustment brush quite a bit in PP, but mostly use my wrist so don't need a big tablet. I was more looking at accuracy, and portability as the key.

Was seriously considering the Bamboo Fun, but also considering the next model below that. I don't do tons of PP, but do enjoy spending hours on hours on a single photo!... Should I stick with the Bamboo Fun? From your description it should fit in my travel backpack with my Macbook Pro 15"...... Hows the performance? Thanks !

I have the Bamboo Medium. It works GREAT! Takes some getting used to but a big help in some situations. Plus I throw it in my laptop bag when I plan to do some editing on my laptop. Check MacMall. They sell a lot of the refurbed units for cheap.

I think you will be quite surprised how many people read it.

Do you have a single or dual monitor set up? It will affect my reccomendation.
