Posted some shots from the recent Africa trip. Just a travelogue, not fully postprocessed.

Enjoy!

This was a fun trip, met some great POTN'ers and a view of a totally different life style. Great photography opportunities.

The only thing I missed was not interacting with the locals as much as I usually do when I travel. I like to learn about the social and political aspects, and get a good look at the normal everyday life of people. Usually come away thankful that I'm Canadian, but with a better attitude towards others and more understanding of differences. But the type of trip sort of ruled that out with being back-country and in a controlled environment (Federal Reserve).

In Africa and learned more about Swiss and Danish life from Didier and Allen, who were sharing the vehicle with me most times.

From what I hear , it's rather a nice House . Not nearly as gaudy as the one built for those cowboys down in Texas .

But on a good note , the heat wave has ended for us . It's still going to be around 100F , but that's better then 112F . We've even had some rain , which helped a little with grass fires .

I woke up a while ago and glanced at the clock and it was midnight, and the phrase passed through my mind "It is midnight and the cock croweth" -- is it just that my mom grew up on a farm?

Maybe a little too much Edgar Allen Poe before bed?

No Tony...I don't think it was Poe....you've just got to stop reading Shakespeare before you go to sleep!

Skygod - I think if I had seen one of those caterpillars in the vicinity of such sensitive equipment, I would have been straight to the doctor. Just in case - you don't want some delayed after effects.
