I think you might like this one. This is the house my Mother lived in until she was 9 years old. There is a Sold sign in the front window. I have several pictures of the inside, mainly taken at Christmas. This would have been taken in the early '40s. My Mom was born in '45.

So nice that it is still standing and well-kept! :)

Age I suspect. The picture is nearly 70 years old. Look how much the tree on the left has grown! I really like that the hedge is still there too.

After I left home we had to get rid of three of the trees I grew up with. Several had gotten too tall and outgrown how well their roots would hold them. We saved them for a few more years by chaining them together because they were leaning different directions, but finally they decided to all lean towards the house (100+foot tall white pines) so they were removed. I have not been home since it was done... I don't know if I could stand the sight of it. Trees get too tall too close to houses and they become a danger. It's sad, but it happens.

I love how little the exterior of the house has changed, Melody. The older houses get these crazy people who want them "modernized" and all of their character ends up removed. It still is quite a lovely place. :)

God! You guys are young! Parents being born in the '40s. How quaint.

My father was born in 1909, my mother in 1916.

Would you feel better if you found out my husband was born in the 40s? ;-)a

No... he was born in 48. :)

His father was a fighter pilot in WWII though. He's his father's first born.
