I know a few "young curmudgeons" but they are typically called something else...

Well, you do know me....

All this AD/BC is getting confusing.

I'll just stick to AC/DC :)

Well, more power to you! Electrical, that is!

Well, compared to you...yes. But compared to how old I plan on being when I die, I'm still young. I plan on POTNing with your grandchildren.

Well, one can hope, anyway.

My grandchildren eh? Well, considering that I am currently childless, have no intention of ever having children without being married, and have never even gotten a hint of my Knight in a Shining Chevy showing up at any point in the near future, I sure hope that you've got lots of years left in you.

Simon,
Its the first time I have come across "BCE". Like you, it threw me. It's certainly not known here in the UK.

Thought so, Richard. Though ploughing through Roger's highly informative explanation below, it seems we're simply "out of the circuit".
Ho hum...

In the U.S., the usage of CE/BCE notation in textbooks and other publications is growing...//...
Outside the U.S., the CE/BCE notation system was introduced in the U.K. school curriculum in 2002. The BBC announced in 2011 that it would be using CE/BCE notation on its programs and website.
...//...
Happy now?

Thought so.
Basically, it's all come about after I left the UK.
And out here, stuff like 'a change in the notation' for AD/BC won't be announced for at least another 1000 years!

Well, I am happy now, Roger.
Thanks so much for the lesson.
:-)

Yep, I agree Art. Did you see Angus Young on the TV interview recently? He is looking pretty second hand and well worn these day, he is definitely a high mileage unit

Old is but a state of mind...............until you are actually old.

The realisation actually came to me one day when I saw an old codger's reflection in a window - and realised it was actually my reflection.

Hell yes, I know how that feels!

And I'm with Jon the Elder...I'm going to live forever or die trying!

Growing old disgracefully!

Old is when almost everything hurts, and what doesn't hurt doesn't work.

Which is why I am merely in my late youth.

Then I have gotten old way too young. :(

I like to push buttons on thingies that take pictures. Sometimes I like to push other buttons, too.
