Mel! What a crappy thing to post!

The sleeping kitten video, however, was priceless.

That link brought up a warning from my virus-checker. Anyone else had this problem?

Mine either. Already placed my order. I'll show those people that gave me 'crappy' gifts for Christmas!

That's good...must have been something at this end!

Hope none of you are too frozen...or melting in the Melbourne sun! Can you believe 45degrees C in a coastal temperate zone??

Come back next year!

Just kidding! Unless it's your 35th birthday, you're over 35.

That, alone, makes you eligible.

The limbo period is fairly long... the younger thread is for under 30, so we have 5 years to roam around lost and lonely.

I had an interesting go-round with government bureaucracy yesterday.

My doctor prescribed a rollator (a walker with wheels and a seat) for me. I contacted the medical supply house and they were very glad to order me one under Medicare, that is, until they asked my weight. They then said that Medicare will only pay for a standard rollator, which has a weight capacity of 250 lbs. I weight 258 lbs (down from 290 a year ago). I'd have to get permission from Medicare for an exception to obtain a bariatric rollator (i.e., one for fat people).

I called Medicare. Their response, they no longer provide bariatric rollators due to budget cuts. When I asked what I should do their very curt answer was, "Lose weight!"

Not only is the government efficient, it's ever so sympathetic to the needs of its citizens!

And just apropos of nothing, the current retail difference between the standard rollator they will provide and the bariatric rollator they used to provide is less than $20.

Purchase a couple helium balloons and get the 250# rated one. The 250# rated one should have a 1-1/2x capacity rating anyhow.
