You have my sympathy, given your medical troubles, but it doesn't reduce my dismay at the responses to Chet's expression of concern for Roger.

You have a right to your feelings and your views. I am not going to argue.

I guess all other topics are off limits. Being concerned about one of our members, doesn't mean everything else stops. I have no idea what happened to Roger, I don't really know him, or have any idea of how to contact him or how to find out about his situation.

I always believed Roger was older than that, for some reason. I know about his weight problem and his problems ambulating recently. No offense to OhLook, but when (if) Roger does return, he will be the first to make a joke about it. That's part of what makes Roger..well, Roger I think. I also believe that if Roger doesn't come back, he would be greatly disappointed if the threads he participated in came to a grinding somber halt due to his absence. I mean no disrespect to anyone, especially Roger, but I think Rogers quick wit would be a part of this thread topic. To add to that, if you don't laugh, you cry right? Meanwhile, sleep well tonight! your air national guard is on duty!

I am concerned about Roger's sudden disappearance, don't think for one moment that I'm not. But I also know that Roger enjoys a good joke, pun, jab in the ribs, smart alec response, etc, hence my post about a raiding party.

I am sure that there is someone around here that knows Roger and/or his wife. And I know for sure that there are people who live in the vicinity that would be able to find his phone number/address in the phone book and check up on him.

Meanwhile, life continues. I started this week by going to a funeral for a lady who was only 66 years old. The anniversary of my own mother's passing is quickly coming up again. Don't get mad at me for wanting a little lightheartedness.

I was just inquiring. I enjoy Roger, he brings his own fun to the threads he visits. No need to stop the frivolity. I also assumed that Roger was older then 70 as he remembers when dirt was invented.

Mental age and physical age do not need to match!

Judging from the replies, I've turned into the bad guy in this group because I thought the way the topic turned was insensitive and spoke up about it. Okay. I'll be the bad guy if I must, but I still think it's insensitive. Agreed, Roger enjoys a joke and all that.

It isn't that other topics are off limits. If people had simply brought up other topics after Chet posted that he was concerned, that would have seemed normal. But the joking started as a spinoff from his post. So Roger's health may have declined by 100%? Ooh, let's have some fun with that!

Well I'm sorry that I made a comment of both concern and humour. Apparently I'm the bad guy around here and I dragged several others down with me. Bad me. I'll go sit in the corner and think about what I did.

I just realized my 55th birthday was on Saturday and I didnt get my birthday wishes from Chet.

And....where is Roger?
He's not posted for a month.
Which even accounting for a severe slow-down in his mental capacity is unlikely.

Trouble is, he lives in the middle of nowhere. Which means, no neighbours.

Anyone know his email address? If so, drop him a line please...
