Looking pretty good for this Ottawa, Canada boy on vacation in Hawaii. This is the view from my lanai.

I hear it's been pretty cold back home.

(walking outside now, forming a snowball, and trying my best to aim for the open window on the west coast ;) )

Throw those snowballs on top of the Sierras - we need the snowpack to get rid of the drought!

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

I tried, but the first one I threw only went about 30 feet, then I got cold and gave up.

I think I'm safe from incoming snowballs. My window is on the west side of the house. :p

Iowa keeps going from mid 40's to sub-zeros. It's a pretty erratic season for us. I had a new garage built last fall and I'm very eager to fix what's left of my lawn and also get my garage in order. Winters like this make me miss living in San Francisco.

Ah yes, tropical Moscow in winter, who wouldn't miss that? :-)

I moved from Detroit to San Francisco to Little Rock to central Iowa. I call it the culture shock tour. Tell me I'm not living the dream! :-)

Now that spring has officially arrived (although it's still cold) all the old bears around here should be coming out of hibernation.

Are you not supposed to stay away from them as far as possible?

I met a brown bear while we were hiking in Tuolumne once. We were maybe 20 yards apart, did a sort of stare down, then mr bear went on his way. I must exude friendliness when I'm about to pass out from fear.

Counting the days? Better question, what is the age to officially belong here?
