If i knew then what I know now...I'd still make the same stupid decisions I think. Agreed! And 35 is 21 years in my past ...... Always learning, then forgetting

I would have gone mad well before the first year. California has a few issues with permits and code - I won't go into my fight with the city government as it still raises my bold pressure. But on another project, I was speaking with someone in management at the Ritz Carleton in Half Moon Bay. It took them fifteen years to get all their approvals. Maybe you got off lucky! I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

I'm not sure just how many of you will recall, but here's some news!!! About 4 years ago, we began making plans to build a house in this damned-complicated, rules-a-go-go country.... And we swiftly hit several, pretty-much insurmountable walls. Well, a few weeks ago, ALL the "permissions" finally came together, the foundations were laid, and the thing began to go up! Hoorah for Skygod and his British Bulldog approach to life.......because today, the windows went in, the roof-tiling was finished, and the electrician liaised with the solar-panel company so that they could get all of that malarkey done together!!! It'll be another 3(ish) months before we can move in, but I feel like I'll very soon be able to return to what I consider "normality".....which will mean a lot more cycling, paragliding, biking, and of course, photography! Yippee! Here ends the "hoorah!" ![]() If it takes any longer Simon, you can give to the little guy as a wedding present. Jurgen
