Counting the days? Better question, what is the age to officially belong here?

According to the first post, 35.

35 seems so young to me now, since it's 20 years in my past. If i knew then what I know now...I'd still make the same stupid decisions I think.

HELLO OLDER PEOPLE!!!!!!

I'm not sure just how many of you will recall, but here's some news!!!

About 4 years ago, we began making plans to build a house in this damned-complicated, rules-a-go-go country....
And we swiftly hit several, pretty-much insurmountable walls.

Well, a few weeks ago, ALL the "permissions" finally came together, the foundations were laid, and the thing began to go up!

Hoorah for Skygod and his British Bulldog approach to life.......because today, the windows went in, the roof-tiling was finished, and the electrician liaised with the solar-panel company so that they could get all of that malarkey done together!!!

It'll be another 3(ish) months before we can move in, but I feel like I'll very soon be able to return to what I consider "normality".....which will mean a lot more cycling, paragliding, biking, and of course, photography!

Yippee!

Here ends the "hoorah!"
 :p

Congratulations on your accomplishment and on your patience. I would have gone mad well before the first year. California has a few issues with permits and code - I won't go into my fight with the city government as it still raises my bold pressure. But on another project, I was speaking with someone in management at the Ritz Carleton in Half Moon Bay. It took them fifteen years to get all their approvals. Maybe you got off lucky!

Thought I'd stop in and say hello to the youngsters here.

I'll be 76 in a few months (if you-all are still around). I'll stop back in then - if I remember ...

What? ...

Thanks all!

Yes, it's been such a struggle....but not 15 years worth of struggle, so I feel better already!
Thanks for that bit of uplifting info'!!!!

As to our latest "recruit", Bubbygator, welcome! :-)

Clearly, a more "senior" among seniors....but really, this thread was initially started as a reaction to a member who opened a thread "ONLY" for younger members.

But really....who cares?!?!?! ;-)a

Regards to all, for now!

Simon

Wow am I feeling old. I thought 30 was waaay too young to be used as the baseline for 'old'.

Really? Over 35 makes you 'older'?? :(

36 in 8 weeks..... I'll come back and complain about young people and their music then :)

Exactly.
I was shocked too, when "under 35" meant "young".
Which was why I started this thread!!!

So lets not forget that "older" is simply a comparitive term.
It's not a superlative, and definitely not an expletive(!) so simply enjoy 'being', post some pictures, and make for some interesting debates while you still can!

Regards,

Simon (now 46, and stunned that this daft thread has been going so long now!)
