Im surprised some of the guys havn't posted anything from our 6am start at Westhaven Marina.

These are looking North East at Devonport, Mt Victoria has the sun exploding behind it, and Rangitoto an Island in the Gulf is in shiloette. Both are just two of the 26 odd Vocanoes that make up the Auckland landscape. Rangitoto being the biggest.

Wow, Wonderful shots!
I like them equally well. The first because of the silouettes and clouds, the second because of the reflection on the ripples.

Great sunrises. I think Kenny's right, very hard to pick which is the favourite.

Rangitoto being the biggest.

. And the youngest !

Great pictures! The sun just peaking through is fantastic!

Thanks for looking!

I messed up most my morning shots, that's why I hadn't posted them.

They were around 1/15th second, and couldn't keep a steady hand. Must have been shivering or something, as I can often do 1/6th ok.

Here's mine as well. May as well stockpile them all into one corner. :)

Oh, the advantages of a small point and shoot. Our poor monster cameras can't compete for the colour saturation.

Also maybe it was because Moppie was shooting further West, and Scott was in right of that shot up top.. ;) Those few metres can sometimes hit or miss. :p

Well I shot full manual, fixed the apature and adjusted the shutter to match the increase in light as the run came up. I did the same for the sunset :)

I also under exposed by maybe 2/3 of a stop. It helps bring out more colour in the sunrise with a little loss in detail about the rest of the image. But who cares about some houses on the hillside, its the colour in the sun thats nice to look at.

I also did some small tweaks in PS, lightened the blue channel a touch, and tweaked the saturation and contrast up a little :)

Heres the first photo with just a resize and USM. I havn't even straightened the Horizan, this was shot on the side of the sea wall :D
