Is there such a thing?

I was shooting with the 1D4 and the low laying sun caused a lot of glare even when it wasn't in the frame.

It wasn't so obvious on the 5d2 but as I'm on a crop camera I'm after a more comprehensive hood.

Put a piece of Painters Tape around the petal hood of the 16-35 so it's solid and isnt a true petal shape? That might help, but it'll look funny.

It will tell you if having a bigger, longer hood is what you're after at least

With the 17-40L you can use the 17-55's hood instead on the 1D and 7D for better flare control. Would that work on the 16-35L or does it use a bigger hood size than 83?
