I'd never seen on either. The wiki link has details on the aircraft.

You guys need to get out more. Here is Rod's second Tigercat that was also racing, with Rod in the cockpit. This was the Big Bossman, now repainted as El Jefe.

Nice shots there Tim.

I love the Tigercat, and unlike so many I have seen one. We used to have one flying in the UK, which I photographed at Duxford's "Flying Legends" event. Sadly it has now been sold to someone in the USA, so I am unlikely to get another chance to shoot one. :(

It used to display alongside some of it's relatives and a 4 ship display of Tigercat, Wildcat, Bearcat and Hellcat was a feature of Flying Legends, now we just get to see the other 3 cats flying together, although some Corsairs may join in for part of the display.

Nice Tim, but come on, we know your holding out on a picture of El Jefe coming around the pylon too.

Excellent shot of it!

I'd never seen one either.

Nope. I don't think it's been to Michigan, either.

Frank, that first airplane used to live in MI at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo. It flew every year when they were still holding their airshows. The Zoo grounded all their birds many years ago though. Rod Lewis bought the F7F and the F8F from them. The F8F is now painted in silver Thai colors, and the F7F is Here Kitty Kitty, and most importantly, they both fly now instead of wasting away in a museum.

I agree completely, I really dislike seeing airplanes on sticks..
