Frank, that first airplane used to live in MI at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo. It flew every year when they were still holding their airshows. The Zoo grounded all their birds many years ago though. Rod Lewis bought the F7F and the F8F from them. The F8F is now painted in silver Thai colors, and the F7F is Here Kitty Kitty, and most importantly, they both fly now instead of wasting away in a museum.

That's the first place I saw her fly........

Nice shots there Tim.

I love the Tigercat, and unlike so many I have seen one. We used to have one flying in the UK, which I photographed at Duxford's "Flying Legends" event. Sadly it has now been sold to someone in the USA, so I am unlikely to get another chance to shoot one. :(

It used to display alongside some of it's relatives and a 4 ship display of Tigercat, Wildcat, Bearcat and Hellcat was a feature of Flying Legends, now we just get to see the other 3 cats flying together, although some Corsairs may join in for part of the display.

We actually had two here although sadly not at the same time, great looking aircraft and very fast.

Great shot.
