Here are some from the other night. MkIIn w/ 300 2.8 and 580EX II. I played with the settings a bit. Went from E-TTL to Manual (1/4 - 1/2). I had the flash mounted about 18" below camera. I am not real happy with the results and should have used my bracket to get the flash over the camera like I've done before. So much for experimenting.

#1. The ref in this picture is my dad. I am usually on his crew, but took the year off because of a broken ankle.

#2 A lot of the kids put pink colored duct tape on their shoes in honor of beast cancer awareness month.

See below for a new image without redeye.

Sorry to hear that. Just kidding of course. It was a close game. Thanks for the comment.

I'm surprised they let you shoot with flash. Officials are usually strict about that. But I guess it makes sense since you mentioned that your dad was the ref =p

I've been an official for 17 years and have always seen people there with flashes, at least one per game. Granted, I have rarely seen some of the set-ups like I've seen on POTN, though. It's not anywhere in the NFHS rules that flash can't be used.

Must be an Ohio thing. Nobody has ever said anything to anyone shooting with flash at our games. Home, or away.

never had a problem here. I dont see an issue with using flash anyway. State Championships are the only difference, rules specify no flash can be used there.

Kev, these aren't bad but you got a tricky situation imo...you already have some ghosting happening but the one thing I'd like to see is a little more b/g ambient. Seems like I am always within spittin distance of 1/200, 800ISO, f4 for night games at 1/4-1/2 pwr. You'd be awfully close to that using your exif as a guide. Just something to think about. One other thing that I'll show you no mercy on...fix the red eye in #2!!!! That's an easy fix since its not demon eye and you're better than that. Keep em coming man, go Bucks!!!

Thanks for the advice, Scott. I'll be shooting again this Friday night, so I'll get another shot at it. I actually did fix the red eye, because I was showing my wife how to do it. I must not have saved it after.....stupid mistake.

Haven't decided where I'm going yet. There are a lot of games relatively local, so I'll have the pick of the litter.
