External flash for SX20

I'd like to put an external flash for my SX20 IS on my Christmas list. In order to do that I need to know exactly which one to tell Santa Hubby to get. Any advice would be appreciated by myself and Santa Hubby!

How generous is Santa Hubby likely to be? You can start at the low end of Canon's lineup with the 270EX, or go for a bit more power (at the expense of a bit more size; the flash will be as big as the camera almost) with the 430EX II or 580EX II. The bigger the number, the greater the range.

and the steeper the price

If you are OK with having only manual flash control, the Sunpak PZ42X is pretty good. It costs half the equivalent Canon Speedlite 430EXII and has plenty of great features.

Thanks for the help. I'm not sure how generous I want Santa hubby to be yet. I want to do some research then give him 2 choices depending on how generous he wants to be. I didn't have a clue where to start.
