kit lens not giving me 3.5 only goes up to 5

The kit lens that came with my T2i (18-55) only goes up to 5, cannot get it wide open. The nifty fifty lens I use opens up all the way just fine., should I send the lens to Canon?

You realise its f3.5 only at the 18mm and and f5.6 at the 55 end?

oops, my bad. Guess I'm too use to my prime lens.

my 70-200 open up to f2.8 the entire zoom range.. should i send this lens to Canon?
