I love Bodie- It is really an amazing place. Your pictures capture it in vivid color. When I was there, the heat almost seemed to mute the colors some!

Good shots, Don.

I like Bodie, too. I expected to see something of the old car and the old truck.

Thank you all for such kind words. Bodie always amazes me when I'm there. Bodie is so rich in history.

These are great! Where is Bodie? Seems like a great place to spend an afternoon!

Thank you!

Bodie is located against the Eastern Sierra. Afternoon would not be enough time to explore this wonder of the old mining town days.

I see that! As soon as I posted the last message, I went to mapquest to find out how to get there from Vegas. Considering it would take nearly a day to get there, its not a day trip! I don't suppose there's a Holiday Inn there? :D I guess I'll just have to enjoy it through your pictures for now!

Not a day trip no, but there are accommodations in Bridgeport which is if I'm not mistaking, about 10 miles away from the Bodie turn off.

The area is worth the trip from Vegas.
