Free, if possible or low $...

The task list in Outlook doesn't cut it.

I would like a todo list app that has plentiful reminder options. I.e., remind daily, a month before, a week before, 3 days before, etc., etc.

(windows xp)

Outlook can remind you whenever you want. If you want to be reminded daily, set it to remind you the next day and then snooze it for 1 day every morning you see the reminder.

It does not do daily to do reminders but a program like Evernote is great especially if you combine it with the concepts that David Allen teaches in "Getting Things Done". You can follow the link to my review of the book. http://prophoto101.blogspot.com …tting-things-done-by.html (external link)

toodledo.com - has an iphone app but you can access it through there or through the web, so you do not need an iphone.

Are you looking for an app for an iPhone, Droid, Win Mobile, what? I use ColorNote for Droid. It has to do lists and I can pin it to my home page (via widget) that is out there for me to look at it. I also use AK Notepad for Droid, too. It's pretty good. Both have reminders.

Look into Google Apps (external link). It's nice because it's web based and can be accessed via any computer or smartphone. Just a thought.

Windows / home PC basically, but come to think of it, something cloud-based would work just fine as long as a hardcopy could be printed. Never thought about google apps, thanks. Perhaps might even look into G labs.

GMail / Google has a task application (http://mail.google.com/tasks (external link)) you can access through a smartphone or on the web. I keep it open in a browser window so my to do list is always at hand.

I'm not seeing that. (MY) Outlook only has one reminder option: set one date and time. 'Course, you may be using a different version. I'm using Outlook from Office 2003.

Took a look at toodledo, looks interesting and useful. I'll probably sign up and give it a try.

The only problem I have with any online service is that at any moment of unprofitably they may pull the plug then you're stranded.

On the other hand, services offered by entities such as Google are more permanent. Google ain't goin' anywhere. All the Borg does is assimilate.
