For walking around in downtown Chicago. The cotton carrier is a NO, too silly. I want something like the Domke F9, but I don't think a gripped 7D will fit in one of those.

I always use my spider holster. I'm not certain if I like the idea of using it with a grip but in their ads they mount a 5d2 with grip.

This time of year I'd imagine a jacket will easily conceal the body.

If you don't need it covered, I'd recommend Black Rapid's camera straps. I own the RS-7 and my wife the RS-W1. By far the best camera strap/holder we've used.

If you want it enclosed, check out Pacsafe. My wife and I each used these for traveling all over Europe with this summer. Very comfortable and well built. Plus the anti-theft features are a big bonus. I'd recommend the Camsafe100or the Camsafe200if you want to keep an extra lens.

The ThinkTank holsters fit like a glove, you're not going to find much else that comes close. More pockets would suggest you're looking more for a bag of some sort... like the ThinkTank Retrospective 20.

You can also get a harness kit for the Digital Holsters, but then you entering Cotton Carrier territory as far as looks.

The new Think Tank holsters can host one of their modular pouches on the side. Perhaps that would be a solution to the lack of pockets. Look for the v2.0 ones on their site.

If I am shooting it is out anyway. If I am moving from point A to B, then it is put away, but unzipped, in which case I can yank it out in 1 second for a fast picture (using Think Tank belt system and holster). If I am moving from point A to B, over dangerous terrain (common), then I can put it away zipped, and if I fall, there is no harm done. If I am wearing it on a cotton carrier, the camera will be destroyed. So it is not just about looking silly. This is my impression of the cotton carrier though. I know there are many supporters, and more power to them, but it doesn't, nor ever will, work for me.

If I were a pro at a sports event or something like that, the Cotton Carrier would be one of my top choices, but walking around downtown Chicago I'd feel silly. I'm not a pro, just love taking pictures.
