Problem with my moitor

I bought a samsung monitor new about 2-3 years ago and it's done well so far but now I'm noticing lines vibrating across my screen. It's hard to explain and it's not noticeable unless I'm editing. I checked all the connections and they're fine. What's the life span for a normal monitor? This might be my excuse I need to upgrade the that Dell ultrasharp I've been contemplating for black friday..

Have you been experiencing any other system problems like crashing, blue screen, or freezing? Have you opened your PC case, cleaned the dust out, and re-seated the video card?

Frankly, if you've been using a cheap TN monitor, that's reason enough to upgrade.

It does need a good cleaning.. I'll try that and see how it works. I wish I would've known earlier about TN monitors but I built it before i was even into photography. Lesson learned though. I'll probably clean it and upgrade next month.
