Wow... the season runs late there... or do they start late instead?

I dunno. Season starts when kids go back to school, third or fourth week of august

It's a spring sport everywhere else almost, very rare is baseball/softball in fall...but happens.

Baseball is a spring sport here. They put softball in the fall for that reason I would guess.
